WelshZeCorgi Posted July 25, 2022 Posted July 25, 2022 (edited) 15 flares and 30 chaff feels really low given how many you need to spoof a missile (in DCS). Why are countermeasure stocks so low in cold war airplanes? Edited July 25, 2022 by WelshZeCorgi
Viking 1-1 Posted July 25, 2022 Posted July 25, 2022 (edited) Because that was the way they were Buildt during that time? I usually only take flares. Old Fox 1 can be avoided be notching and maneuvering, flares are important in a Dogfight Edit: Just remember that you are not supposed to fight Hornets or Vipers that use Fox 3 with the Mirage F1. bones1014 Posted July 25, 2022 Posted July 25, 2022 I think the nature of older missiles makes less flare ok. They tended to be fooled a lot easier by the flare than modern versions. 1
