phant Posted August 5, 2022 Posted August 5, 2022 DCS: Kfir by AVIRON The Kfir is a single engine, single seat multirole, all-weather combat aircraft based on the Nesher Mirage 5 aircraft. but it is powered by the GE-J79E engine. To accommodate the engine, extensive changes to the fuselage, cooling, wing, and canards were required to retain its excellent performance. It was given the designation KFIR (Lion Cub in Hebrew). The Kfir received various upgrades and special modifications throughout its service. The Kfir entered Israeli Air Force service in the mid 70’s, and it was used until the late 90’s. It took part in the 1982 Peace for Galilee Lebanon where it carried out unescorted strike missions and received credit for shooting down a MiG-21 in a mixed-dogfight with F-15As. An early version of the Kfir without the modified wing and canards (Kfir-C1) was leased to the US Navy and Marine Corps with the designation F-21A. It was used as an aggressor in various locations. The Kfir was also exported to Ecuador, Colombia, and Sri Lanka, and it is actively in use by the private US Aggressor company, ATAC. Aviron aims to bring the Kfir to DCS in the most realistic fashion possible. The DCS Kfir will simulate the external and internal systems and state-of-the-art flight dynamics based on aerodynamic research, CFD modeling, and wind tunnel data. Bye Phant 5 1
Tavo89 Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 (edited) Currently the Colombian Air Force (FAC) uses the Kfir and has received many modifications since 1989, I am Colombian and I would like to see a skin corresponding to my air force, it will be a launch purchase for me and I look forward to this module. THANK YOU!!!. Kfir C-7 FAC Edited August 6, 2022 by Tavo89 2
Llanero Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 Which variant it will be? It seems to be an early one, C1 or C2, like a Mirage V with different engine and canards... Am I wrong?

Tavo89 Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 The HUD and sounds during a Kfir C7 FAC emergency. You can add it to your module . 1

phant Posted October 24, 2022 Author Posted October 24, 2022 KFIR module FAQ Q: Which Kfir variants are you going to release? A: We plan to release the F21A, Kfir C.2, and the Kfir C.7. Q: Will you release all the variants as once? A: The C.7 has most of the systems of the C.2, so we will first release the C.2 and F21A, and continue 'upgrading' it to the C.7 which will be released later. Q: How much will the module cost? A: We have not decided on a price yet. Q: What is the main role of the Kfir? A: The Kfir was designed as a multirole aircraft, capable of performing unescorted bombing missions, combat air patrol and even reconnaissance with a modified nose. Q: Do you have a planned release date? A: We still have a lot of work to do, as we want to deliver the best possible simulation of this iconic aircraft. We cant currently estimate the time it will take to do so. Q: Are you going to release the module within this year? The next year? The year after that? A: See the above answer. Q: What armaments will the module have? A: Please see kfir-specifications Q: Why won't you make the Kfir C.10? A: The kfir C.10 is currently in active service, so many of its systems are still classified. Bye Phant 1 1

phant Posted January 18 Author Posted January 18 AVIRON - DCS: Kfir We wish you a Happy New 2025 Year and are excited to humbly present a summary of 2024 for Aviron Simulations. We know some of you have been eagerly awaiting this, and we thank you all for your support and engagement in our Discord community, helping us bring the Kfir to life. Systems Department The systems' components were developed with real physics logic, simulating the behavior of electricity, fluids, and mechanics as they would in real-world scenarios. It's all about those geeky intricacies for a truly authentic experience. We integrated the plane systems' primary and backup channels using the aforementioned physicalized components model. Additionally, we have developed specifically tailored testing tools to ensure that each component—and accordingly each system—meets expectations for well-defined behaviors, enhancing reliability. Flight Model Department We have been implementing a flight model based on actual wind tunnel data and are complementing it with a complex CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulation to ensure accuracy. We are excited to announce that it is currently in the pre-alpha stage and taking shape. Art Department This year, we refactored our entire cockpit to bring it up to current DCS standards and fully integrated it with DCS. This means everything is clickable and has functionality linked to the system it represents. We don’t want to give away too much, so this is just a taste of what we’ve achieved. We can’t wait to share more information with you when we are ready! We also invite you to join us on our Instagram page @avironsimulations for more updates and behind-the-scenes content! Below, we have a few pictures displaying our art department's progression—though please note, these are still a work in progress. Bye Phant 3
