The Syria Map uses objects placed in the center of main roads. That looks good, and is much appreciated.

I've recently noticed that for some reason, my Mission Debrief got larger and larger, filled with mysterious 'dead' events for objects like '_453936929', many of them appearing to be dying in sequence and within a fraction of a second. It took me some time, but I traced these deaths back to the objects placed in the middle of the road (you really don't want to know how long it took me to finally get proof for this).

Attached is a debrief.log (the track is too big to attach at 7MB, but available on request) that chronicles the death of almost 800 objects within the first 10 minutes of the mission. I think it would help if we were able to filter out scenery object deaths to keep the debrief log meaningful.

Cheers,

-ch

Many thanks. From what I can see, it happens everytime a tank rolls over a road barrier (one piece of barrier crushed = one event).

It is entirely a factor of the small objects. Drop a large bomb over the beach and all of the beach chairs, umbrellas, and other objects also die because they have near 0 life. Much to my surprise several knickknacks that adorn buildings like air conditions are their own separate object. I don't think it should be considered a bug, because I'd prefer it if absolutely every object was detectable like this. However I do think filtering of objects would be useful and on Syria specifically I started an "ignore list" specifically for the road barriers, umbrellas, etc from being saved to the save state on the Grayflag server.

Agreed. I'd call it "unintended consequences" from the high detail in this incredibly beautiful map. One of these consequence now is that the Briefing Screen can become next to meaningless, or at least very difficult to read, and I recommend the ED think about providing users with checkboxes in Debrief that allows them to selectively show/hide events by object category: scenery, static, sea, land, air (we don't really need to distinguish between helicopters and fixed wing), weapons. That way, every user can curtail their own report. Oh, and while we are at it, an export to text could be a great thing as well (for those who are obsessed with data analysis)

That is what the button that says "Save Debrief" does and then some. It also saves automatically but is temporary in your savedgames/DCS/logs/debrief.,log file.
