HeavyZephyr Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 (edited) Happy New Year! I just managed what I thought was my first succesful mission. I did the Convoy mission. I managed to destroy the Nothern convoy and both I and my wingman made it back to base. I had a good landing, parked it, and exited the Ka-50. When I exited the mission it said I again commited "fraticide". I checked the mission and the only things I destroyed was the convoy. Could it be because I left my flight plan and went directly to the Nothern convoy? I thought I was in position to celebrate my first succesful action, doah! any ideas what I'm doing wrong? :joystick: Edited January 1, 2009 by HeavyZephyr
Tango Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Fraticide is when you kill your own side. Sure you didn't kill a friendly unit? Best regards, Tango.
HeavyZephyr Posted January 1, 2009 Author Posted January 1, 2009 Thats the thing, I didnt from what I could see, I destroyed only the Nothern convoy and then straight home. I set the label option "on" in Sim mode to make sure I didnt target anything else, could there be soldiers running around that I'm not seeing? I thought that maybe because I left the designated flight plan that I may have compromised some other mission component? As much as I'm enjoying BS its getting frustrating as hell. thanks for your reply...
Guest Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Do you have your pilot nationality in the logbook set to USA? My understanding is that you will get the fratricide message if you kill units that are the same nationality as your pilot (and the convoys in that mission appear to be set to USA).
Dusty Rhodes Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 I know in campaign that is not the case. I am set to USA, A-10 squadron and it doesn't effect the Deployment Campaign in that way. Chillspider Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 had to be something but remember your shooting the blue ones. after i shoot a vikhr i goto F10 and watch it on the map and see it the missile hits a blue target plus you can see where abouts they are by zooming in. Then on abris you can see where your shkval is looking by watching the yellow line with the box at the end of it and slew it to the same are on the map. Atleast thats what i do sometime i dont like using the Labels i try to find them by RECON. You can send your wingmen out to recon at different distances and they will send them back through datalink then just set an ingress point for them send them there and attack those targets . HeavyZephyr Posted January 1, 2009 Author Posted January 1, 2009 Wombat778, I think you may be correct about the nationality thing, I'm gonna have to go over to Red side and see if that will fix it... whats the old saying, "I rather be dead then red" now "I rather be red then dead" The kids are napping and or occupied, its time for some me time...
HeavyZephyr Posted January 1, 2009 Author Posted January 1, 2009 Wombat778, thanks much, you are correct, another annoying thing that shouldnt be, does that qualify as a bug? bugged me, thanks again! 24.xx hours of flight time and I have my first successful mission. Kind of sad huh, lol!
MrReynolds Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Buggers!!!! Flying for UK - Destroyed Challenger- Fratricide - ALL COMBAT POINTS GONE! Good beta testing there............................ (if it's true about the nationality thing)
Guest Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Hehe, technically speaking it might be a feature not a bug. I mean, why exactly is a UK national flying for the Russian military and blowing up British assets? In real life, it would never happen, so consider it a realism enhancer :P
