Indianajon Posted September 10, 2022 Posted September 10, 2022 OK so I've played this campaign multiple, multiple times now but with the new model AIM-54 I thought I'd give mission 7 another spin. Long story short during the tussle I somehow managed to shoot a missile out of the air with an AIM-9 but ingested a load of crap. Lost all sorts of systems and so immediately knocked it off and aimed for the nearest airfield as a divert. This happened to be Groom Lake...... Well played Sir! Well played
Reflected Posted September 10, 2022 Posted September 10, 2022 (edited) Haha, Bio and I agreed that we just HAD TO include this easter egg btw how could you get damaged? You’re set to invulnerable during the engagement… Edited September 10, 2022 by Reflected Facebook Instagram YouTube Discord
Indianajon Posted September 11, 2022 Author Posted September 11, 2022 I have no idea? My sidewinder hit a missile directly in front of me and I few through the cloud. Lost the HUD, VDI and TID and it was flying a bit off. Both engines remained good and the steam gauges continued working. In fairness the only warning lights I had were for the roll SAS so there could have been an element of paranoia and role-playing in there? Glad I did though, loved it!
M-Flux Posted May 25, 2023 Posted May 25, 2023 Ah, haha, had been wondering if this was a general Nevada map easter egg or from the campaign I was playing. Now I know, who to thank . When you don't expect those coms, just cruising and chilling in the air, it actually spooked me a bit . When I landed at Groom Lake, I suddenly heard a big bang and saw a fire behind me and was initially confused. Did I drop something on my bad, hard landing? But then checked the Tacview record and saw that it wasn't me, hehe. (I guess that also teaches me that I should look around a bit more when flying, ). Thanks for this funny addition!
