AndyB Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 I posted this here about 2 weeks ago or so and it got moved to wish list because I didn't add a trk file or other evidence so figured I repost with the right credentials (sorry about that). My observation of the ED Hornet is that the inboard part of the wing is angled too far down, giving it a weird look compared to the real Legacy Hornet especially when pulling G's. When pulling G's or when lift is greater than weight, the whole wing lifts up, not just the wingtip (though the inboard part moves much less than the wingtip), this is especially noticeable when launching off of a carrier where the sudden weight drop is counteracted by the lift of the wing right off the flight deck. But even at rest, with weight (fuel tanks, ordinance) on the wing, it's not as angled down as the ED Hornet. Love the work you guys are doing at Eagle Dynamics, Thank you for everything! PS. The Trk file starts in F10 Map view, give it a second to set up, it's not bugged lol This video shows how *almost* horizontally flat the trailing edge of the inboard wing is even after the High G Turn. AndyB Posted December 3, 2022 Author Posted December 3, 2022 @BIGNEWY Just curious if you guys are looking into this? The ED Hornet is Amazing. It's just that, like 10% of the look is off because of the wings. Especially when pulling G's.
AndyB Posted December 5, 2022 Author Posted December 5, 2022 Those wings look so weird lol. It's like gravity is times 4
Paveway333 Posted January 17, 2023 Posted January 17, 2023 +1 been bothered by it since release especially in the Hornet, but I also see it in other modules. It makes the aircrafts look like stiff toys compared to the real thing. Hope someday the teams will look at their 3d models and actually care about details like this. The entire wing lifts and flexes gradually as the forces increase during flight, not only when extreme G's is being applied. 1
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted January 19, 2023 ED Team Posted January 19, 2023 Hi I have a report open reference the beer cans, which can be seen protruding sometimes with wing flex. I will pass on your comments and observations, but can not promise anything at the moment, it will depend if the team agree with the observations or not. thank you 2 Forum rules - DCS Crashing?
