Bremspropeller Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 Does the police light actually do anything besides going on and off? I realize DCS' light simulation is far from being optimal, but so far I haven't been able to illuminate, much less "ID" any other aircraft with it at night. 3 So ein Feuerball, JUNGE!

It works on the Mirage 2000, and I thought I saw it showcased in one of the F1 teaser trailers though I could be misremembering. 2
chichowalker Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 It works. Apart from the cockpit switch you have to bind police light operation. 1

I know how to turn it on and off. I just haven't managed to make any use of it. I'm wondering if other people have. Might as well be a limitation of the DCS lighting-system. 1 So ein Feuerball, JUNGE!
chichowalker Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 Police light was design for visual identification during night interceptions. Once you finished rejoin by the right we used it for watching country marks, tail numbers, etc. FULL VID. 1 1
Bremspropeller Posted October 3, 2022 Author Posted October 3, 2022 I know what it's supposed to do. It doesn't shed any light on the other aircraft, though: I tried to "swipe" the light across the C-130 by rolling a bit (to see if there's a brighter patch or spot travelling over it), but it doesn't seem to work. Does anybody else get better results? 3 So ein Feuerball, JUNGE!
