Dropbear Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 I'm a little confused as to what triggers a campaign mission 'failure'. I restarted the GOW campaign, first mission and I think I must have taken out just about every enemy on the map. Took out the artillery, lots of tanks etc .. Wingman took out the helos ... When I landed and exited the mission I had received a medal, but a mission (and therefore campaign) failure. Very annoying. Does the mission briefing give you the failure/success criteria? Am I blind? (a distinct possibility)
Frederf Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 At some point during the mission "MISSION SUCCESS" should show up at the top of the screen where the radio subtitles are. I think if you quit before this is triggered it counts as a failure.
Dropbear Posted January 7, 2009 Author Posted January 7, 2009 At some point during the mission "MISSION SUCCESS" should show up at the top of the screen where the radio subtitles are *scratches head* I don't think I have ever seen this in a campaign mission (then again I've only ever flown GOW part 1 campaigns)
Frederf Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 In Deployment campaign there's the success messages with a happy sound. Try Deployment mission 1?
815TooCooL Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 You don't need to destroy every targets on the map and you can't. Rearming several times for wipe out is unreal. :D Just focus on Primary objective. It will be on briefing text, which says what's the primary Target Point. Just smash them and land when you think it's enough(i.e. out of ATGM). It takes not much time and you'll advance. Deployment campaign is great. Try it. MrReynolds Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 I've given up on campaign. Go through ALL of the missions via the mission editor ;) I think it's unrealistic not to be able to plough through the mission map and edit waypoints / TPs anyway. Much more fun this way.
