Hi guys,

Took my old mi8 for a couple of training sessions and learning the radios and never etc. I set up some triggers like set freq to 32 Mhz and play a looped sound to practice .

I tried literally everything but i don't hear anything.  I did set the radios correctly  volumes loud, fm/am button etc etc . I created wav and ogg files of different bitrates and different names, in a couple of  folders etc

The sound are perfect in the mission editor but for the love of God I don't hear them in the mi8. Not in r863, r828, yadro  ...  nothing . I tried all audo settings in dcs  and windows 10 but that didn't help either.

Can someone sme in right direction?

Thanks a lot

I do this all the time with no problems.  Lots of ways to do this. First. I only use *.ogg files just so you know that. 1 @ Mission Start.  Sound to Unit. "ME" Pick the sound file. I will most always put a 2 sec. Delay on it's start to make sure it will start.. NEVER make a sound for player then go back in to that  ME command and edit it to another file or if you updated the sound file thinking you can just replace the file in the folder with the new one. It will not play in mission. Delete the Play sound ME request and save the mission then load the mission and make a new ME command to play the file save and test. I found out this will save all kinds of problems by doing it this way. I stopped using Wav files just because On my system in DCS I had more files not play then *.ogg files I made. Never had a *.ogg file not work. I try not to use the FM or UHF radio unless I am sure NO other file will play on that radio with my sound file because it will STOP my sound file. When I do set a sound file up for the FM radio on CH 30.00 I put the file on, play from a ZONE like you talked about I always use a FREQ of 10000 so I know it will reach every place on the map. I would try deleting the command to play the file then Save the Mission then load the mission and make a new Command to play the file and test. Good Luck

@jozeff You have the radio transmissions under Triggered Actions. Those need to be triggered, as the name implied. They are not immediate. Try putting them under the Route tab actions so the action occurs at the specific waypoint.

Thanks so much!! I cannot thank you enough!

I have literally spent hours changing sound files etc to try to get a sound signal. I changed everything from triggered actions to waypoint and everything works like a charm!

great job!

cheers
