Loukuins Posted December 11, 2022 Posted December 11, 2022 I have kind of the same issue, the thing is my GPU is "still" at 99% usage but the Power is at 50% of the GPU so I lose around 60-100fps for no reason, I'm not PSU limited, the game suddentely goes to 30-40fps, the issue goes away, and came back again, and again and again... This is really ANNOYING AF, I have a Ryzen 7 5800X3D + 32GB 3200MHz, and an RTX 3080 10GB, I usually run at 100+fps at 3440x1440, I have nothing in the logs that show low GPU Power and issues, RAM is great, I have 40GB of Pagefile... I use the Flip mode false workaround to have proper Fullscreen and G-Sync, I had this issue since 2.7. 1 My Setup : i5-4690 3.50GHz + 24GB RAM DDR3 1600MHz + MSI RTX 2060 Super Ventus OC + 2 SSD + 4 HDD + Oculus Rift CV1 + TM T.16000M Hotas Super Etendard for Life !
DropBear64 Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 Gsync costs money? It is free and turned on from the NVIDIA Control Panel. What does cost you money is the monitor to support Gsync (that's the catch). If you don't have a Gsync supported monitor don't turn it on. Vsync only kicks in if you have the occasional screen tear due to 60Hz monitor otherwise leave it off. Though if you have a fast machine then have both on. Doesn't appear to affect my fps (70-90) ...I did find that with Vsync off it was a bit staccato. So, I left it on and its smooth city for me I have this issue also. I am running a NVIDIA 4090 and its runs apparently at 99% Not sure whether that's the game reserving that amount so it doesn't have to call it later or if it's just the single core issue spilling over to the GPU. Either way my GPU runs at 30% and I guess the single core it is using is running at much higher percentage. Should all be fixed when Eagle Dynamics introduce Hyperthreading though it seems they will only be adding one more core. Is that right? If so bring on Vulcan if they are still working on that!

I think DCS report a 99% GPU usage but check your Power usage, for me sometimes it goes to half of the Power of my 3080 My Setup : i5-4690 3.50GHz + 24GB RAM DDR3 1600MHz + MSI RTX 2060 Super Ventus OC + 2 SSD + 4 HDD + Oculus Rift CV1 + TM T.16000M Hotas Super Etendard for Life !
jackmckay Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 I'm having a same issue on latest updates. What I noticed is when I press game Pause my GPU utilization goes up to 100% from running at 60% in game. That is a bit odd. I also tried lowering settings and vsync OFF etc. but the major performance impact was visible by turning fullscreen OFF which helped a bit. Talking about Causacus scenery. Syria runs better for some reason in GPU utilization in windowed mode too. Matching fps to monitor is obviously the best option and the worst thing out there is when game performance in pair with headtracker downgrades your ability to spot enemy planes in combat. That is a real handicap here.

Nope, he is running with a very old CPU, so he is just GPU Limited by his CPU, that's normal behavior, changing settings won't give more FPS, and heavy missions will put a lot of load on the CPU aswell 1 My Setup : i5-4690 3.50GHz + 24GB RAM DDR3 1600MHz + MSI RTX 2060 Super Ventus OC + 2 SSD + 4 HDD + Oculus Rift CV1 + TM T.16000M Hotas Super Etendard for Life !

GrEaSeLiTeNiN Posted July 11, 2024 Posted July 11, 2024 (edited) Old thread but I am just going to put it here. NVidia Alt+R stats display is bugged (Jul 2024) and shows some bogus stats (like GPU usage of 0% or 1% when iCUE shows 30%-50%). Make sure the NVidia stats are working properly in the first place.
