Can we please have three state shortcuts (up/middle/down) for the flaps lever? The up/down controls does make it impossible to use an axis/button lever on some control hardware (virpil throttle in this case).

Just figured out you'll have to press F first to unlock the flaps down lever set on my Warthog Throttle for Flaps.

This is where you can use Voice Attack to make life easier. I fly VR only and don't use the keyboard. 😀

A button press (or a voice command) can output a series of keystrokes to release a lock then move a lever etc.

For example ...

When I say "Flaps Down" OR press Joystick button 23 on my Warthog throttle ...

Do I make a voice reply to this command?
Begin Device State Check :  Joystick 1 Button 23 Is Not Pressed
    Set Boolean [talk] to True
End Condition

First release the lock
Press Right Ctrl+Right Shift+L keys and hold for 0.1 seconds and release
Pause 0.5 seconds

Then move the lever
Press Left Shift+F keys and hold for 0.1 seconds and release

Reply if it is a spoken command
Begin Boolean Compare : [talk] Equals True
    Say, 'Flaps down selected'
    Set Boolean [talk] to False
End Condition

Similar stuff for the gear lever/lock.

thnkx, sounds interesting, but i have no microphone, (no audio drivers that i use as well, as i am quite deaf) but i do have a Streamdeck XL.

Must dive in to that, but getting around in the needed quaggles puts me off a little. Also get me a cheapo microphone ...

As said above, Voice Attack is the way to bypass such issues. You don’t have to use voice commands - keys/buttons that set off a sequence of commands work just as well.

For the Mosquito in particular I like the voice commands since it’s like talking to your navigator. It actually adds to immersion, and I even have him responding by voice that he performed the action (speech leaves something to be desired, but it’s OK if you keep his replies short). “He” operates:

  • The levers (bomb bay, gears, flaps). I also have a command for a sequence that lower the flaps just 10 degrees for takeoff/low speed turning.
  • Arm the bombs (I have separate commands for wing and bay bombs so I can quickly select just a pair)
  • Feather a prop
  • Activate fire extinguisher for engine fire (incl. lifting the ####ing button cover).
  • Select a fuel tank.
  • Activate/stop fuel transfer from the drop tanks.
  • Open/close radiators.

This saves me from memorizing a lot of key/buttons bindings. For some commands I even set up several spoken commands to activate them so I don’t have to remember the specific wording.

I use Voice Attack with other modules, but in the Mosquito this really was a game changer.

... well, he could have said it!

Yes. Completely agree.

I have trained my navigator - Nigel - to do all that as well as read checklists, operate the radio and key the morse ID codes when required..

MY Voice Attack also sends the correct sequence of radio channel selections to operate the autopilot autolevel/orbit modes and then reset the radio to the original channel.

Can't do without it.
