quyes Posted November 29, 2022 Posted November 29, 2022 I'm only experiencing this issue with NTTR. It happens both when opening pre-designed missions as well as new blank missions. I've tried a repair, and updated my NVIDIA drivers, no change. It's been a while since I've been in the NTTR so I'm not sure when this started. I feel like I'm beating my head against a wall. Any suggestions? dcs.log-20221129-011517.zip
Solution Flappie Posted November 29, 2022 Solution Posted November 29, 2022 (edited) Hi. Your file system seems to be faulty ("IN_PAGE_ERROR" + "io::FileStreamOpen" in your log). You need to scanyour DCS drive for errors and ask Windows to fix them for you: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system-files-79aa86cb-ca52-166a-92a3-966e85d4094e Edited November 29, 2022 by Flappie ---
quyes Posted November 29, 2022 Author Posted November 29, 2022 Thank you Flappie. I'll dig into that some more. I was suspecting it was probably some sort of hardware issue.
quyes Posted November 29, 2022 Author Posted November 29, 2022 I ran the scan per MS. It found, and corrected, errors. A retest showed no change in behavior. I then ran the scan a second time, it came back with no errors found. The logs still show "in_page_error" combined with "io:FileStreamOpen". Updated logs: dcs.log-20221129-162118.zip
Flappie Posted November 29, 2022 Posted November 29, 2022 Now that the drive seems to be fixed, you should try another DCS repair. Use "Slow" mode. ---
quyes Posted November 30, 2022 Author Posted November 30, 2022 Thank you so much Flappie. The file system scan followed by the slow repair did the trick. I've now had NTTR running in the mission editor for 1.5 hours with no issues! 1
Flappie Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 I'm glad it worked! Guess what? I've had the same error yesterday. A slow DCS repair did the trick. ---
