CE_Mikemonster Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 250kph @ 600m, 4.5km range to target, short bursts. Hmmm might take some practise.. lol Just out of interest there's no line on the HUD airspeed scale, and instead of the 'pXXX' altitude readind there's '-XXXX' (four digits)? Too many cowboys. Not enough indians. GO APE SH*T
morsmortis Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 I don't know if the real Ka-50 has this function, but I remember discussing air to ground tactics with Russian avionics when the Su-33 and MiG-29K were brought into play with Flanker 2.0/2.5 Aparently, there is a mode or an option with aircraft that can carry rockets to automatically fire once parameters have been met for the weapon to reach the target (ie) you have locked the target within your hud and now superimposed the circle with your aiming dot(s) and have recieved the "NP" signal.
Frederf Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Airspeed's on the left, altitude's on the right for the HUD. pXXX is radar altitude, the "-YYYY" altitude is... I dunno, some sort of barometric altitude when the radar altimeter is not working?
enigma6584 Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Thanks for the vid. It looks like the pilot is shooting those rockets at about 1.4 to 1.5 km away. Been practicing from distance and it is definately easier to hit targets from at least that distance out. I must have been too close before.

Frederf Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Correct, when out of RTE mode there's a scale from -100 to +500kmph and the tick mark on the scale is the dynamic maximum airspeed caret.
