Timm Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Hi Guys, Question please, I notice that when I switch on the anti-collision beacon light the beam shows up on all surrounding vehicles/buildings etc, is there any way this could be turned down abit ? Don't get me wrong but the beam under the aircraft is awesome, it's just that I feel the reflection beam is a bit strong. I think this shot explains what I am trying to say. Nate--IRL-- Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 There seems to be a great disparity between light reflected of the terrain and off objects. I have looked in vain for a setting in the config files that controls this. Might be fixed in the patch, might not. diveplane Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 for a quick fix if you dont like the reflections , but this turns off all light illumination in game change the line in the options lua ["lights"] = 1, setting to 2 makes them default on . https://www.youtube.com/user/diveplane11 DCS Audio Modding.

DTWD Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Hi Guys, Where can I find this file ? Frederf I have not tried that mod so I will give that a try first. Timm Just install the mod mate, I did and it seems more realistic. Or should I say, more towards my perception of realistic. Regards [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Timm Posted January 17, 2009 Author Posted January 17, 2009 (edited) Hi Paul. Thanks for that but for some reason has not changed anything. Here is a shot with the new lights in and as you can see being picked up on the truck. To me this just does not look right. DTWD Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Oh yes I see what your saying. That does seem rather odd, there is a tick box in 3Ds Max to fix lights doing that and for the life of me I can't remember it's name and it's not installed on this machine. Anyway whatever that way of moddling light is, it's not active on those lights with the look of it. It's basically the fall off, and it doesn't look like it's doing it. Regards [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
diveplane Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 (edited) the reflection is controlled from a different file somewhere in game, the lights mod i made changes only the halo to a smaller more realistic size, and altered the colors a little. the options lua is at BlackShark\data\scripts look for options.lua Edited January 17, 2009 by diveplane https://www.youtube.com/user/diveplane11 DCS Audio Modding.
