Jel Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 (edited) Been running a local server (online, public server) for some years now, since today i´ve realized an issue i don´t yet understand: The clients can connect to my server but then just won´t load anything. All clients got the same issue: Server connection established, loading screen appears with "loading", then nothing else happens - not even the progress bar showing. The SRS does connect for every client, as host i also see the clients connecting to the DCS server itself (chat message "player xyz connected"). I´ve checked and double-checked ports and local network settings such as firewall etc. All fine and unchanged. The issue does clearly point towards an issue with my server (local machine hosting a MP map) but i can´t yet see what might be wrong. Any ideas ? GKOver Posted December 24, 2022 Posted December 24, 2022 Today I am facing big lags when we are playing in the same LAN. Of cource we have not switched on „public server“. I think that for the new release… all multiplayer games are now handled over the whole internet and not stay with the LAN.

And what does this have in common with the posted issue above ? When in doubt - climb. Nobody ever collided with air. Ask a friend or someone to attempt a join on your server, and look at the DCS.log on their client ( on server side is clear you only have the line for player connecting. maybe we're lucky with client log to identify the problem ) Another thing to check, make sure that you have opened also the relative UDP port and not just TCP for DCS. Since TCP will be used for initial "handshake", but then continuous traffic will be exchanged on UDP. Let us know, Fly Safe. Jel Posted December 27, 2022 Author Posted December 27, 2022 Hm, both TCP and UDP are open, all fine here. Interesting thing is that it seems to work again since yesterday. I haven´t done anything on my side, nor does my router have had any update or reset. Weird but ok for me If i see this happening again, i´ll make sure to get a clients´log for you.
