topol-m Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 As several months passed since DCS has been released can you give us more info about the progress of the A-10 add on. thanks [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
GGTharos Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 It's still projected to be released about 9 months after Black Shark's retail release. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
brewber19 Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 LOL - I caught the subtlety there ;) March 2009 (Retail Release) + 9 months = possible Xmas present for 2009?! Super It's still projected to be released about 9 months after Black Shark's retail release. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 487th Helicopter Attack Regiment, of the VVS504 Red Hammers
brewber19 Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 (edited) I think he (GG) might mean an online RU release of A-10 in 9 months after EN retail DVD release...so a DVD release of an A-10 is likekly another 3 months after that (gives the biggest window). Mind you, what the hell do I know? Its only supposition and if ED get another military contract it could be frickin years before we see it - alot can change ;) Edited January 19, 2009 by brewber19 added bold for emphasis [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 487th Helicopter Attack Regiment, of the VVS504 Red Hammers
GGTharos Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 That's assuming things go as they went with Black Shark - no, I don't know if they will or they won't. :) In any case, it will certainly not be horribly long until the A-10C is available, at least as projected :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
SuperKungFu Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 I'm not speaking on behalf of ED but the 9 months is if everything works out. There's always speed bumps on the road, for example if we find a bug, they fix it but it breaks another thing. So there's always a constant battle. And plus ED is not really finished with DCS: black shark either. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
topol-m Posted January 19, 2009 Author Posted January 19, 2009 you mean downloadable content is coming, or updates? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
GGTharos Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 The plan is to have the A-10C module (not Add-on. MODULE!) out some 9 months after the Black Shark's retail release in the west. What form this will take, and any other details are unknown at this time. It will be out when it's out. The Apache will be the A version when it happens, and there's no progress updates on it as it is not the current module in development. GGTharos Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 The Apache-A version is what ED was able to get the manuals for; in accordance with the theme set out for DCS, if it cannot be modeled to a very high degree of fidelity, it will not be modeled. Esac_mirmidon Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 i would love to fly both of them, no matter how poorly would look the Ka-50. " You must think in russian.." SuperKungFu Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 you guys gotta remember that it doesn't matter how poorly the Ka-50 might stack up to the Apache, it all depends on the pilot ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
haigotron Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 It's still projected to be released about 9 months after Black Shark's retail release. 9 months after black shark? oh wow, hopefully that's september..around my birthday ;) ....then i'll know what to ask instead of god-awful sweaters ;)
