Did DCS overdo the Christmas puddings?

I tried to update DCS stable yesterday. It failed due to a lack of disk space which took me by surprise. I tried to sort it but it crashed to a black screen and I forced a shutdown to get out again. I tried a repair, it said it was done but it still locks on a black screen when loading.

When I checked my Eagle Dynamics folder on my C drive it said it was... 705gb 🤣. No kidding.

I use OB from the C drive more than Stable and looked to move the stable version across to the external drive. Now, stable crashes to black and though OB will load, I've lost all my settings. Display, Options, Bindings, the lot.

I do have input folders and saved games, liveries etc. folders saved on an external (backup) so hope I can fix that later but for now, I don't know what's best to get up to. I'm thinking I'll have to uninstall the pair of them and go through the whole thing all over again, unless there's a better way?

I have DCS OB installed on a Windows 10 platform off bootcamp. 1tb C Drive where it's all installed I thought would be enough. It seems like it's bloating out, getting bigger and bigger while I'm not looking. 705gb? Any idea what I might've done or should've done anyone?

Thanks for looking and Happy New Year.

A DCS repair should work. Since it doesn't, you may have an issue in your "Saved Games/DCS..." folder.

Please attach your dcs.log file (from Saved Games/DCS.../Logs).

Please use attached utility software (old version of Space Monger) to determine what's taking so much space on your drive.

Never used that software before Flappie but it looks a good idea, cheers.

I’ve managed to move my saved games folder properly and OB is back up and running. Settings and Keybinds etc all looking good, I even sneaked in a quick test flight. Eagle Dynamics folder is now 368gb as I had to uninstall DCS stable for now. I’d tried repairing, as admin and with fingers crossed but it didn’t want to behave. I’ll re-install it in a while so long as it behaves but for now at least I’m back in the virtual skies with OB.

cheers for the help and Happy New Year to ya.
