How do I know where i am looking with the tads?

Hi

I am trying to learn cpg part of the apache. I can use tads and engage to static targets while i am also stationary (lol)

due to excessive nvg distrubance ı turn it off. (I am not sure even this part is related)

So I can't see where my tgp is looking at. so I can't be sure where i am looking and targeting. But I can see where my cpg is targeting when i am in pilot seat

There are some explanations in this related thread, but the short answer is you won't get the same dashed reticle indicating where the TADS is looking from the front seat, like you do from the back seat.

Interesting. too many mambo jambo sensors, aqusition sources, helmets and no hud diamond which we have  on almost all airplanes and helicopters (the ones which have HUD's)

Do you mean you turn the IHADSS off or simply don't use TADS video at all?

If neither of those, then the HAD/High Action Display serves this purpose. The FOR/Field of Regard box tells you where the sensor is looking relative to the aircraft's centerline. You can also use the TADS sensor bearing carat below the heading tape.

No. I only turn off green NV screen by decreasing. Otherwise I can not see anything.

This box is something but it gives very very rough info

I quite agree....... compare to Russian aircraft, though; the 'visual content' of the HUD and other systems is what I'd call "abbreviated". Not at all to say the technology is any less capable; if anything the non-Russian aircraft visual references certainly add to the steepness of the learning curve.
