Cathnan Posted January 8, 2023 Author Posted January 8, 2023 Just a random idea, I don't know if something can be made out of it. The Republic of Cyprus get's attacked and critical infrastructure is destroyed in the west of the island. It's clear it's not your average terror organization and traces lead to turkey. The attacks seem to indicate preparation for a turkish invasion of the island. A carrier group get's sent to assist and investigate. Maybe it were syrian false flag operations trying to pit Nato members against each other?

Could be some interesting twist and turns in such a plot. ClydeBigBird Posted April 22, 2023 Posted April 22, 2023 Just finished this campaign and had a blast! There are campaigns with more complex missions and better voice acting, but in terms of fun factor this one is right up there. It will test your skills - Hornet systems knowledge, AA refueling, carrier landings - but never in a way that feels unfair or frustrating. Some campaigns can be a bit frustrating or awkward to play because you end up getting killed by trying to stay on the rails of the mission script, and end up doing things you would probably never do on an MP server or other open environment. This kind of thing never really happens in this campaign, which makes it more enjoyable to play through. Mission scripting is really tight, you're never left wondering if you missed a trigger. Another really strong point is the weather and time of day settings. It's amazing how much better DCS can look when effort is put into this area. This was a really strong point of ROPL1 as well. There are a lot of really atmospheric moments in this campaign where everything comes together. Hooking up to the tanker just as dawn breaks over the horizon for example. As for ideas for the next campaign... On 1/8/2023 at 1:28 PM, Cathnan said: Just a random idea, I don't know if something can be made out of it. The Syria map is pretty popular these days both in MP and recent campaigns, but we haven't really seen a campaign that uses the Cyprus part of the map yet! 1

When creating a campaign I work hard on just the aspects you have mentioned, so it’s great to see they are noticed. Glad you like the @Cathnan idea as I am working on my next campaign which is just that. Steel Jaw Posted July 26, 2023 Posted July 26, 2023 Agreed, though I enjoy the dynamic campaign in another combat sim, I always come to this one. 1 "You see, IronHand is my thing" My specs: W10 Pro, I5/11600K o/c to 4800 @1.32v, 64 GB 3200 XML RAM, Red Dragon 7800XT/16GB.
Shurik75 Posted April 11, 2024 Posted April 11, 2024 Hello Badger633. Thanks for your Hornet campaign series - it's the best way to get my skills back on track after some time off from flying. Very friendly and atmospheric. Consider that I have already bought your future campaign))) Please check ROPL2 M12 POLICING POLITICIANS.miz - after the update on April 11, it closes immediately after the start.
Badger633 Posted April 11, 2024 Posted April 11, 2024 HI @Shurik75 Thanks for the kind words, much appreciated. I just checked both M12 normal and EZ refuel. Both opened with no problem and did not close down immediately. What do you mean by immediately i.e. is it instant without you doing anything? Are you using Open Beta? I cannot check in Stable as I do not use it and would suggest using Open beta. I don't think the issue is with the mission file, as I can open ok, but may be some sort of corruption to your campaign progress listing in DCS. Must admit don't know how to resolve such an issue although some people have mentioned it in the past. Maybe reset the campaign start the first mission then close it and skip to 12 to see if that helps. eFirehawk Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 Just posting my feedback here. Finished my second playthrough of this campaign. I like it quite a lot, it is very well done, enjoyable to play and pretty stable. The only bug I ever ran into was in the night mission in which we're tasked with bombing docked ships, after takeoff 420 would fly away to nowhere. Yet, I believe there are failsafes so all the necessary events triggered anyway. To anyone reading this, the campaign is pretty cool, not too difficult and Badger does an excellent job not only making the missions pretty stable but also usually keeps an eye here on the forum for bug reports and usually replies pretty quick. I wanted to mention this because I believe that committed devs deserve recognition. The only criticisms I have are: I think it would be cool if the SA page would be more populated with more flights not necessarily related to the mission/task, just to give a feel of more life to the scenario. I had the feel that the most contacts on datalink were strictly related to the mission so I felt a bit of DCS' 'emptiness' lurking around sometimes. I don't know if there's a technical limitation that prevents this but anyhow it would be cool if implemented. Also, the voices of the airport controllers seemed like the same person but with higher or lower pitch depending on the airport and situation to make it seem different. Very nitpicky of me but for the sake of immersion it would be cool if it could be improved someday. All in all, impossible to go wrong when buying this campaign. Many many thanks @Badger633 for your excellent work and off I go to start Green Line! 1 Pentium II 233Mhz | 16MB RAM | 14.4kb Modem | 1.44MB Floppy Disk Drive | Windows 3.1 with TM Warthog & TrackIR 5
Badger633 Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 Hi @eFirehawk Glad you enjoyed the campaign. Just checked out the docked ships mission. All went well this end so not sure what went wrong your end. Are you running any mods and did it happen more than once? If you do happen to fly it again and get a repeat please send me the Tacview or Track so I can try and understand what happened your end. The reason the SA is not full of other background aircraft is that, being a VR enthusiast, I have always tried to reduce unnecessary load on the computer as VR is very demanding. Although over recent updates including multi threading it has become less of a problem and so in future campaigns will probably add more , 'there is a world out there' background units. Hope you enjoy 'Operation Green Line'. You will have a lot more control with that one regarding how good your adversaries are as you can select this at the beginning of a lot of missions.
