KB mode selector A or INT/KONT switch doesn't initiate automatic release of chaffs

I want to release chaffs automatically by using the KB mode selector position "A".
I get shot at by an SA-6 missile, and then initiating INT or KONT doesn't do anything on the dispenser pod.

I am not using the U22 ECM pod, only dispenser pod, see track:

Thanks for the report!
I was able to reproduce it and report it to the team.

Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit

I also have this issue and I tried with and without the U22 pod onboard.

The settings I have for this is as follows:

1. Countermeasure Dispense set to KONT

2. Countermeasure Operation Selector set to A

3. Countermeasure Chaff/Flare selector set to R+F

4. Streak mode set to 0

5. Indicator selector set to LJUS/LJUD

I believe that with these settings the auto sequence should initiate.

Could we kindly get an update on this? The automatic countermeasure release mode still is not working in conjunction with the ECM pods. So at the moment there is no automatic countermeasures release available at all.

Also, is the automatic countermeasure release function in conjunction with  the basic integrated APP-27 RWR planned to be implemented ?

Sorry, a feature like "automatic chaff release" is that obviously useful most pilots sooner or later will try it. Most tutorials out there state "there's an automatic chaff release, too". Even the official manual has it, in light grey letters. No warning, no hint "don't trust, don't use, broken". That's a very effective way to frustrate newbies and learners ... Where's the problem to place a description like "inactice - WIP" next to the "A" at the selector? And just one sentence in the handbook?

There is no problem. But it requires someone to sit down, context switch, spend time on the topic and do it. Something that has not happened yet.

But I wanted to let you know that you are being heard, like any other post on the forum or Discord. Even if there was no explicit response, it was read and "put on the list".

It's written in the manual on pages 122 and 125. @Retnek Have you read the handbook?

I know the not-feature "automatic release" for years now ... from time to time I check the forums if there has been any progress. Sadly parts of DCS more and more drift into an attitude "good enough to pre-sale is good enough at all". Heatblur has been at the quality-side over the years - I hope they remain on that path. Sufficient communications sometimes is part of it, too.

The handbook is done fine, but you use that "light grey" in an unusual manner. You expect people to read that content printed in that very light grey? To me that is a way of hiding content. To me it contains a message: Dear reader, ignore the light grey parts because that's "w.i.p." It will become readable when the feature is finalised.

@Zabuzard my key point has been "a feature like 'automatic chaff release' is that obviously useful most pilots sooner or later will try it". Low hanging, ripe fruits imho.

That's what it is supposed to do, yes 😄
It worked in the past, and no one knows when it will ever work again.

I understand and you are being heard. It will eventually be tackled, I cannot tell you when though.

Thx, that's good to know. No deadline expected or intended - can't be that easy or you'd done it already. when it's done -  :worthy:
