TylerE Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Just bought the sim last night, and am diving into to the training missions. I can't seem to find a basic free flght mode in the sim? (e.g. give me a cold helo sitting on an airfield, but no enemys, SAMs, etc.
opformaster Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Just use the editor and place a ka-50 on an airfield and set the skill level to "Player". You can just click "Fly" and try it out or actually save it as a mission and then load it from the single missions menu. "target range" starts you off cold and has a range with targets so you can also practice a lil gunnery. LtFransky Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 It's not too difficult to create a loop of waypoints. Just make sure you put a takeoff and landing spot so your PVI is able to turn you around and RTB. Oh yeah, opformaster has a good point, select "player" in the skill level. I learned the hard way. :) Ours is not to reason why, but rather to do and die. A man walks into a zoo. The only animal in the entire zoo is a dog. It's a shitzu
H-street Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 go into one of the instant action missions, the target practice one is good.. and change the start location to airfield.. save and load it up i think its called SHooting Range. that is the best one to use because you can also go practice your weapons..
Sunjah Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Actually, the shooting range is perfect for free flight. You start at an airbase, there is a field 18 km's away with vehicles to give you "target practice." They are not manned, they just sit there. In this mission, you can practice landing/take-offs, following waypoints, having the auto-pilot follow waypoints, gunnery, missle and vikhr practice. There are no threats anywhere; it's set up as a shooting range but you can really do anything you want. Remember, on Nov. 4th, vote for Black Shark for President!!!
tusler Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Here you go I created this mission with no enemy and other aircraft at the airport taking off and such so I could practice startup take off and I put a couple of boats moving at 20knots so I could practice landing on them. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=35372 Ask Jesus for Forgiveness before you takeoff :pilotfly:!
