NIGHTHAWK1 Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 My new dreams. AH-64E V6 and the new F-16 Block70/72. I know I'm just dreaming, just saw both debuted on news today. Way to new of AC for DCS to make, but wow, what upgrades these two birds have. 1 I-9 12900K, RTX 3090, 64 GB, 2TB SSD, Oculus Quest 2, Win 11, Winwing Orion F-16EX Stick, F-18 dual throttle, Thrustmaster TPR pedals.
bies Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 Nobody except for narrow circles in the military know their details, how avionics works, exact performance, weapon systems etc. They could be made only in totally unrealistic way with made up fictional systems working in completely different way than real counterparts. So not in DCS. 1

Exorcet Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 As AI, some of the more modern aircraft may be realistic. I think we could use a few AI additions along with slightly better modeling of aircraft capability to make them feel distinct. As things stand right now, you don't feel much difference when fighting a MiG-29 as opposed to a Su-27 since the AI flies everything the same and likes to cheat with stuff like SA and detection range. 2 Awaiting: DCS F-15C Win 10 i5-9600KF 4.6 GHz 64 GB RAM RTX2080Ti 11GB -- Win 7 64 i5-6600K 3.6 GHz 32 GB RAM GTX970 4GB -- A-10C, F-5E, Su-27, F-15C, F-14B, F-16C missions in User Files
Jayhawk1971 Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 While this idea may certainly not be something for DCS, I admit I do miss the days when there were such "unrealistic" (by DCS standards) implementations of brand new aircraft in flight sims , like EF-2000/ TACTCOM and F-22 Air Dominance Fighter - and especially Total Air War. Even though everything about the aircraft was how the developers imagined they would work, those games were convincing enough back then, plus, they were a hell of a load of fun. They filled the niche between hard-core and arcade nicely, IMO. I really wish the whole genre would have a renaissance of sorts, with the amount of titles we had during the 80's, 90's and early 2000's. I remember when we had the luxury to not pick up a title, because there was so much competition. 1
