maxTRX Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 (edited) First, on the positive note: The IR image of stationary and moving vehicles shows hot spots right at the start of mission w/o any edits in ME. Now, the ability of ATFLIR to maintain the 'scene' stabilized position doesn't work very well. Even a mild turn that masks the spot momentarily causes the pod to drift off and it keeps drifting off. Not every time but it happens a lot. Litening is steady in any mode. So... Litening goes back in my inventory. Edited January 31, 2023 by oldcrusty wooden fingers
CBStu Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 I will have to try it also. I had been thinking the ATFLIR was the more modern and hence better of the two but it is bugging me more than it should.
maxTRX Posted January 31, 2023 Author Posted January 31, 2023 Here's a short clip. You can see it doesn't take radical maneuvering to throw the ATFLIR off: Now, another short clip. The hot vehicles are quite visible now:
Tholozor Posted February 1, 2023 Posted February 1, 2023 From my own testing this can happen to both pods. Not sure if this is an issue with gimbal maximum rate or maximum roll limits. OUO Posted February 3, 2023 Posted February 3, 2023 In the second video, try pressing the nose of the aircraft under the target? This is not ATFLIR's problem.
