dggoofy Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 Hi Reflected! What a pitty! I've just started this campaign (2nd time, because I love it!), but I must say : after DCS 2.8 update, it doesn't work any more. First : to many time, the AI won't takeoff, ie mission 4, mission 5. (I see, you already told ED for this DCS bug, 1 year ago. The bug's still here) Second : In combat, I very often lost all my squadron. The P51 or Spitfire seem to be unbeatable! Well, saddly I have to let this campaign down. I'll retry it later after the major WWII AI update. Fingers crossed, it will work. Cheers. Daniel
Reflected Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 I’m seeing lots of ‘ai won’t take off’ bugs on other maps too. Please save the track and send to ED 2 Facebook Instagram YouTube Discord
motoadve Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 Played mission 2 twice and could not find the bombers. At least can I go attack their airfield? Will there be any planes or targets of opportunity to attack in UK in this mission?

I just checked the mission works, you just need to be in the right place as instructed by Walhalla. just fly heading 010, and climb to 7000 meters. The trigger zone you need to hit is 30 miles wide, and it's only 20 miles from Merville. Impossible to miss. Why would I place ground targets in the UK when it's a bomber intercept? That would surely destroy performance. Here's an example of the mission (2.8) Edited February 17, 2023 by Reflected Facebook Instagram YouTube Discord
motoadve Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 Thanks will try it again, I get vectors, and the last one I get is 290, then the radio gets quiet. I continue on 290 heading and takes me all the way to England and I never see a bomber.

Later Walhalla instructs Kakadu squadron to turn 2-8-0 but that's not for you You're 'Falke' Edited February 17, 2023 by Reflected Facebook Instagram YouTube Discord

Definitely it shows you have passion, and the knowledge, I moved to DCS from Il2 a month ago, not going back, love flying the warbirds in DCS, they feel like real airplanes, and your campaigns makes DCS immersive, the perfect combination, this planes deserve detailed campaigns like the ones you do. To me DCS is the first sim that does this, a detailed plane and realistic FM, been flight simming for 25 plus year and a real pilot for 14 years one of the planes I fly is a warbird, IMHO DCS warbirds feel really good.

Haha , it happens Thanks! Actually - because not everyone speaks German - every time the controller tells you something that you need to act upon, I also included an on-screen message in English to emphasize it. There will be a lot of chatter you'll hear between other flights and squadrons. I agree about DCS, I want to enjoy other sims, and I try to from time to time but I always come back to DCS. I did so even when it was only the Mustang and the Dora over the Caucasus back in 2015. It's pretty cool you fly a warbird (what kind?), unfortunately I don't, but I get what you say. DCS planes 'feel' very good, with unique characteristics, not like a generic FM at all. And I love the fully modeled cockpits and systems. This is why I make these campaigns, to make full use of these awesome modules. 1 Facebook Instagram YouTube Discord

Yes it is a very popular airplane because the way it flies, it has a great reputation, solid, stable but very light on the controls, probably the most fun airplane I have flown. 1

Did the same mistake yesterday, even though I speak German as my native language.^^ Then I remembered Walhalla stating the enemy will come from the direction of Dunkirk, trigger kicks in when you are in that region. But I thought I saw something else that is strange: 2nd and 3rd formation didn't really attack, at least what I saw out the window. I will check the tacview though. I ordered them to attack via F10, so as I understood it should've worked. Edited March 3, 2023 by Bananabrai Alias in Discord: Mailman
