VictorDavion Posted February 6, 2023 Posted February 6, 2023 The radar/radio altimeter on the HUD in the F1EE stays pegged at 1900ft and does not move or change regardless of aircraft position or alt.
fausete Posted February 6, 2023 Posted February 6, 2023 The EE doesn't have a radio altimeter. That reading comes from the barometric central and it's limited to 1900 ft. 3 1
Caldero Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 (edited) Hi If you can wait until the last planned variant (M, after the BE) you will get a very different aircraft, much more capable and with plenty of toys to play (new HUD, advanced AG radar with tgt designation, new radar display, modern HOTAS functions, UFCP, MFD, etc, and... a RADIO ALTIMETER Regards Edited February 7, 2023 by Caldero 3
VictorDavion Posted February 8, 2023 Author Posted February 8, 2023 Yeah who knows when the M will be released. Due to the complexity my guess is prob at least another year. I would honestly rather have the AZ. 1
Sarge55 Posted February 8, 2023 Posted February 8, 2023 Meh, the M will arrive in due course. In the meantime I’m enjoying some old school flying. I just pop back to the F-16 if I’m feeling like easy mode. 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] i7 10700K OC 5.1GHZ / 500GB SSD & 1TB M:2 & 4TB HDD / MSI Gaming MB / GTX 1080 / 32GB RAM / Win 10 / TrackIR 4 Pro / CH Pedals / TM Warthog
Iron Sights Posted February 8, 2023 Posted February 8, 2023 Check your barometric settings. If you are above a certain altitude, say Nevada, it won’t ever stop being pegged at 1900 because you haven’t adjusted your field settings.
tete4Ywis Posted February 8, 2023 Posted February 8, 2023 To get around the lack of radio altimeter for ground attack you can zero your barometer at a higher altitude than the target’s altitude to get the gunsight’s (1900ft) altitude indicator earlier.

I haven't had too much time behind the EE b/c university, but I appreciate its simplicity. The M is going to be lots of fun too (hopefully not too complex lol), a nice in-between of a F-16 and the EE.
Caldero Posted February 8, 2023 Posted February 8, 2023 (edited) Hi It is a 20 years old spanish magazine: REVISTA FUERZA AEREA. Especial num 5, about the 14th Wing of the Spanish Air Force, the main unit which operated the F1 from 1975 until its retirement in 2013 Regards Edited February 8, 2023 by Caldero 1
Criticale2orr Posted February 8, 2023 Posted February 8, 2023 Ah okay, probably would have a hard time finding that in the U.S. . Cool magazine tho
