Hi all,

In my mission I setup WP 10 and 11, my TGT is on 11 and I take off from Krymsk on wp9. I set my WP on auto and set my VRP and enable it.

All work right but when i reach the WP 10 I expect that my plane switch to RP and than on TGT (wp 11) but what happen is that my plane switch directly on WP 11 (my target) and i can set manually from ground FCR the RP looping through OA1 OA2 TGT and then RP. When i reach my RP the computer switch correctly to my target point on WP11.

I many videos I see that switch from prev WP to RP to TGT may be all automatic but i my configuration i need to manually switch from prev to RP with FCR, what's wrong?

Thx alll

Did you check Wags’ video on VRP/VIP and follow the instructions to the letter? It should work. Make sure you do the TMS-Up when you’re at the IP. I can’t check your trk file right now but if there’s no definitive answer by friday, I’ll take a look…

Hi Chaos, i have follow the wags video, in VRP i don't press TMS up  to follow WP. Is all auto mode. Let me know!

Thx in advance

Have you enabled VRP by mode selecting (ICP zero key) VRP mode in the DED?

You don’t TMS up in VRP (that’s a VIP thing). Make sure the HUD says VRPCRP and simply slew the diamond over your chosen visual reference point. The target location, which is the Steerpoint, will be updated in sync. Fly the azimuth steering line and drop.

You're both correct in that TMS-Up is only with regards to VIP... My bad.

I watched your .trk file and, from what I can see, you're doing everything according to the book. Why the STP sequencing doesn't change automatically from STP10 to RP is beyond me. I've tried it on my end and it doesn't switch over automatically either which makes me wonder if this is an actual bug. It does switch over automatically from RP (manually selected) to STP11(TGT) so at least that part is working. I watched Wags' video on YT again and his does switch over automatically between STP, RP and TGT. That video is a little bit dated though and things may have changed in the meantime.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

When VRP mode is entered, it should automatically default to the TGT sighting option. You can change it to RP if you desire, and if RP is set as the sighting option you can perform an overfly designation of the RP using TMS-Up, just as the case in VIP.

Having said that, there are some updates and refinements to VIP and VRP in DCS F-16 that are in development to correct some behaviors.

Thanks for the clarification. That totally makes sense now since VRP is, well, just a reference. It should not _have_ to be overflown. It can just be a visual aid to locate or stay away from whatever you desire.

The use of VIP/VRP has always been a little bit of a mystery to me. I understand it was mostly used in a GPS-less environment. Anyway, thanks again.
