VR Starlight: Could be an FOV game changer

"Perceived" FOV any way.

If interested, go here and register... might spur this chap on to get this rolling.

Long story short, it's an array of simple LED and software that captures the light produced at the  edges of what we see on the outer perimeter of the HMD and projects it through the LEDs, fooling the eyes into seeing a wider FOV.

I saw this the other night and I'm intrigued 🙂

No so much the additional heat in the headset though 😄

But a pimax may cost quite a bit more. I'm thinking about getting one.

I'd be all over it if they made a version that didn't require the additional expense of Lighthouse tracking. I only do VR seated.

Also hope it gets an openxr implementation that's not tied to steamvr.

Doesn't inside out stop tracking properly if your hands are outside of a rough cone from the front of the headset?  That's what I had been told but have never tested it.  If so, lighthouse allows you full tracking so still might be better for seated.

It's true for the G2 but, I don't use the controllers for flying.
