My take is the opposite. The cockpit looks very realistic. I can read all the gauges in VR with no problem. Even the copilot looks good. At the moment its my favorite module. But as always YMMV.

Agreed. But paying $1800 for a GPU just to play a couple games would put me AND my marriage on our knees! LOL! Wonder when the 5000 series GPUs are coming out?

I don't get it. Some people are paying $1800 for a 4090 graphics card and still have to turn down significant settings. If I paid that much for a GPU I would expect to be able to have all settings set to HIGH with a decent frame rate in VR. I just upgraded to a $500 4070 from a 3060 ti and can get 75+ fps with most settings on HIGH. My CPU is a measly I5-12600K. I do have DCS set as a high priority via Picasso Lasso and have a Booster program which shuts downs all background tasks and services. Maybe that is the answer. I also have a HP Reverb G2 headset.

Cool. What brand and model chair do you have? I've been looking at such chairs for quite a while.

How about the issue with the low cloud layer / fog I reported some time ago. Is that going to be fixed also?

When you say "fogged down" do you mean there is an excessive amount of fog near the ground? I reported this issue to Reflected some time ago. I issue seemed to appear after a DCS update. Stopped me from flying the campaign until fixed.

That's my problem. I'm close to 70 years old. By the time I go through the startup procedure of any of these modules, I will need a nap! LOL

Yes, I've tried the VR preset, and adjustments below the VR preset, but on my midrange computer(I5-12600K, 3060ti) it still looks crappy with a low framerate on both ST and MT. And yes, I know, I can do like several others have done and spend thousands of dollars upgrading my computer and VR headset just to play DCS but there is no way I'm going to do that when I can play all my other PC games (including my racing sims) fine with what I have. I'll just fly DCS on my 4K 55 inch TV with trackir which runs beautifully with a very good framerate. Hopefully, one day DCS will produce a core engine which will create a similar result without having to break the bank. Also, I think its comical and a great disservice to potential customers that it continues to advertise with all its modules: "Recommended VR systems requirements (VR graphics settings): . . . CPU: Core i5+ at 3+ GHz or AMD FX / Ryzen VEGA 64; . . . ; Discrete video card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 / AMD Radeon RX VEGA 64 or better;" I guess the folks at ED think "well, with this hardware you can still run the game at its lowest graphical settings at a couple frames a second, so why not recommend it?" I sure would like someone with these specs who are getting good graphical quality along with a decent frame rate to let me know how they are doing it.

I definitely agree and its so frustrating that I can play that "other" WW2 sim in VR with all the graphics settings maxed out with no problem but struggle with DCS in VR. I know and understand that DCS was not originally designed for VR. Maybe they can make another version of DCS which is much more VR friendly? Maybe something with toned down map details if that would help? I for one would gladly pay for such a version!

I came to the same concluson. Was spending way too much time fiddling with VR settings to get the best balance between good looking graphics and fps. Gave up on VR for DCS for now and am enjoyng DCS on a 55 inch 4 k tv much much more.

I opened the XRNS window and clicked on "OpenX" and then clicked on "Deactivate XRNS OpenXR API Layer." I then was able to log on to DCS MT without any upside down or distorted image BUT the necksaver does not work. In my instance, running a midrange computer in VR, DCS MT currently only gives me 2-3 FPS increase so its not worth the bother.

I'm having the exact same problem.

I got a one (a Reverb G2, v2) about 8 months ago after using a Quest 2 . I thought and still think its a substantial improvement over my Quest 2 for sim games. I got a refurbished one on Ebay for around $300 with a one-year Allstate warranty Ebay provided. Haven't had any issues with it yet. But with my luck all the problems will come after the warranty expires LOL!

That's why some have reported the engine is underpowered. Must be those overweight pilots!

I agree that the FM is better. However, WE NEED MORE CONTENT!! More instant missions, more missions, campaigns. All the other helos have loads of content.

Ok. So they make lenses that are supposed to be usable with any VR headset? In just a quick glance at their website, I was under the impression that you had to order your lenses for a specific VR headset which may not work on another. Thanks to all for the recommendations. So far looks like VR Optician is the way to go.

I will be getting new glasses soon. Currently I use contacts when using my HP Reverb G2, Ver. 2 because I get a wider FOV. I am considering getting VR prescription lenses since I only use the contacts for VR. Any recommendations for the best places to get VR prescription lenses? Thanks!

What I personally need is a very good but reasonably priced helicopter cyclic and collective.

Personally my greatest desired flight stick is one with force feedback. I may be wrong, but I don't think those are being made anymore due to some kind of patent issue. As a result, I'm still using the long obsolete but excellent force feedback Microsoft Sidewinder 2. I have two of them that are centuries old but work like a charm.

Great stuff! I have flown the Hell Hawks over the Bulge campaign. Its very immersive. Thanks for sharing this info. Maybe I will volunteer to do voice attacking like I did for Reflected's f-86 campaign.
