how do you set up the cmds chaff and flare page on the DED?

I have had good luck setting the BQ to five and the bi to .111 and the SQ to 2 and leaving the SI to one second. my thought process is using it that way for using flares  will put a big hot spot in one chunk of sky and then it will wait for a little bit and put another big hot spot in the sky so that the heater will guide to that instead of one long line of flares that the missile can follow to your plane. I use the same setup for chaff as well. I use program one for chaff and program two for flares. all you have to do is put zeros on the page that whatever counter measure you don't want to expend. setting it up that way all I have to do now to get chaff or flare is to push a button for chaff pushing other button for flare using the key bind program knob one and program knob 2. once I became proficient at the setup I wanted it does not take much time at all to set up the cmds pages.

Once ED releases the DTC you don't even have to worry about becoming proficient at setting it up in the DED page.

You can simplify this. Only set up program 1 and 6. This way you will only have to bind CMS Left (dispenses CMDS program 6) and CMS Up (Dispenses current selected program).

In the meantime you can also use this: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3312680/  You set up your programs under the special options tab so you don't have to mess with the CMDS pages every time.

Even better than this is the DCS DTC software for the F-16C and F/A-18C. It lets you load everything from CMDS presets to MFD setups, radio presets, HARM/HTS tables, etc. Every F-16C pilot should have this software. 😎
