it got farther than before but i forgot to save the file before trying it with the pagefile big and unfortunately the log came back the second time with one line less than the first log. thank you for your time but i am just going to roll back version. i am wondering why upgrading this time broke dcs for me! anyone reading this in the future, i used this site in the link below to help me roll dcs back, i could not figure out how to get skatezillas updater to work correctly but i followed his instructions in the hidden content to use the command prompt. there was one thing that i got hung up on briefly and i dont know if it is how only my computer works or i was doing something wrong or they all work this way but when i was trying the command prompt and entering C:\Users\gri>CD program files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin [enter] ,The system cannot find the path specified would come back. i figured out i had to go folder by folder to work and it looked something like this. C:\>cd Program Files\ [enter] C:\Program Files>cd eagle dynamics\ [enter] C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics>cd DCS world openbeta\ [enter] C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta>cd bin\ [enter] C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin>DCS_Updater.exe update 2.8.8.43704@openbeta [enter] the updater popped up and loaded the build i requested. after i got everything open it worked like how it did originally.

You are correct in guessing that i have a lot of trialed planes that are no longer active. Yes it is a laptop. Last night i tried a full[slow] repair and a couple of other things and dcs always gets stuck in the same place. My gpu's are not close to being the best but it has managed to play dcs through 2.8. in the past i tried different pagefiles sizes and i didnt see a difference so i just put it back to how ot was. I will try your suggestions and report back, depending on the results, i think i am going to just roll back versions. Thank you for your assistance.

gpu= NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M and intel hd graphic 530 when i enter a mission, task manager says dcs is unresponsive and all the sources dcs was using, dcs stops using them. i also left dcs open in said state for 20 minutes without any change dcs.log

Long story short as possible, i updated my dcs build when the 15e got released and haven't touched dcs since. This past week i hopped on dcs to learn about the 15e, each time i got on i declined to update dcs, knowing it has been along time and the download would take longer than i cared for. Well, i decided i have been having enough fun that i would update dcs. After the update to the most recent build on openbeta, now when i try to go into a mission, training or editor dcs goes unresponsive almost immediately. I noticed that it shows the same spot where it freezes on the load bar. Is there anyway to roll dcs back to last build on computer? Thanks for any help

this past weekend I was lucky enough to go to thunder and lightning 2023 which the big ticket items were EA-18's, A10, demo teams and csar exhibition, last but not least the Thunderbirds. I had the privilege to meet the Thunderbird team and i was quite the surprise by their reactions. I told them that I fly and f-16c block 50, you should have seen the look on their faces, they didn't know what to say they were completely quiet for 15-20 seconds.I had a dead serious look on my face and then to break the silence I said I fly the Viper in DCs, you know what that SOB said next oh is that like Microsoft flight simulator. I just walked away. they do look pretty fancy in their little uniforms that they wear. they have stepped up their game trying to scare people by having the crowd look one way while one of the solo Acts last passed you from the other they didn't four or five times. I only had a heart attack twice. that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

for question A and B I am not really sure how I did it but showed I did in TacView . just kidding I was using that phrase as a figure of speech, I was just trying to say that I took a corner a little faster and sharper than I should have.

@Ironhand how fast did you start out at? what altitude? do you remember how much fuel you had? any Stores on? did you turn the motors off? or j Did you just have them idling?

would an f-16 even show up on an NCTR? since its engine blades are so far back and up in the intake? the same with the f18 as well. looking head on i cant see any engine blades. its almost like they where built that way for a reason. in the gulf war there where some missions during the time of day(sometime early morning like 330ish) when the iff codes would change and they made a big deal about not forgetting to change your iff codes so you didn't get shot down. when chaos ensues it is very easy for some one to think they have fulfilled the roe, just look at the 1994 Black Hawk shootdown incident https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1994_Black_Hawk_shootdown_incident

i was trying to make an mission and only got to add 1 fight, 4 planes and dcs froze. it did not do the formal crash and send the files to dcs. this was the only file that updated when i closed dcs, through task manager. i noticed the page file was only at4868mb, even though i bumped it up to 32768mb in the system. is there an issue? dcs.log

you might be able to find a mod that you can use the kh25ml. check out the su30-mk mod

@AeriaGloria i just came across this and i guess my original assessment was correct. it is the same scenario as the f15s' crash as well. this video reminds me of a song!

@silverdevil i believe that was the issue, i haven't played a ton but it has yet to crash. thank you very much for the quick response yesterday! what program do you use to look at the files i posted in the original post? why would this update be the one to make the game crash when it very rarely crash before? i thought MT was supposed to help with that?

i have been spending more time flying the f-16, but i went back to the f-18 today for the first time since the update and it seemed like the f-18 doesnt carry as much speed as it used to. it could be because it has more nose authority allowing it to pull a higher aoa, thus bleeding more speed. every update i find changes that are not in the change log, i dont know if there is to many changes to list or that they sneak changes in so they can keep plausible deniability.
