I am extending the mission thats generating these queries so there is a part 2. 

I have made 2 new groups, both late activation, set to activate when part of group one enters the trigger zone.......

I have made all the trigger zones for the route and started to make the corresponding triggers. I have approx 43 triggers in "part 1" of the mission.

I started making and naming the new triggers, but when I press save, they just dissappear from the trigger list. I have tried individually and in groups of varying numbers. 

Any ideas why this is? Have I reached a limit on number of triggers? 

I am creating and naming them in the exact same way I did the "part 1" triggers with no issues......

I have made missions with more than 200 triggers without any problem. What happens if you duplicate one of your existing triggers? Do they disappear as well after you save?

Many thanks....I just found that if I add a condition and action , they save. They wont save without these.......I did all the triggers first and was going to add the conditions and actions later.....so will have to  do this for each as I go....!

Maybe you are creating triggers but entering just the name part? .. you need to enter at least one action for the trigger to  be saved. Also, wouldnt the CLONE button be more appropiate if you are duplicating existing triggers?

Hi Rudel, yes, that was the issue - thank you! All the triggers are different, so I cant clone them sadly! Although very happy for you to take a look at the mission and see if there is any ways to make life easier! I enclose below!

Honestly, if you're racking up that large a number, move to Lua. 

Doings triggers in the ME is PAINFUL. Understanding that you need at least TWO for every single 'ACTION' you want to trigger is a PITA too. 

You can't copy/paste, you can't use boolean operations in the conditionals and you have easily have multiple options for actions... honestly, go lua. You'll appreciate it in the long run.

Thanks for the tip, but I know nothing about .lua scripting......right now, I just want to finish my mission! Perhasp for another time!

Regarding the 2 triggers you mention, I have not come across that yet? In the mission above you can see I have various triggers for actions that work OK with the single trigger?

It comes down to how you're doing stuff. Esp if you are looking at boolean type operations. Remember that triggers get removed from future processing after the 'CONDITION' has been met and the 'ACTION' processed. Sometimes you will need to use two triggers to do the correct evaluation by setting a flag on the first when it passes it's condition and then the 2nd responding to when that flag is true. It's a pain but it's the way it's been designed. 

There was a problem I was having months ago and Suntsag pointed out that I needed two triggers for the 'one' action I wanted to accomplish. 

 

This is especially true if you have multiple OR's in the CONDITION for a single ACTION. You need to make each 'OR' it's own trigger. (sigh)

Thanks, thats sounding a little more complicated than my current understanding of the editor! I am just a humble novice so far ! 

I just tested the triggers for part 2, the part 2 flight lead Jackal 1 spawns fine, but if I try and select the role of jackal 2 , it says my flight is delayed.....

Basically, as the jet can only hold 15 waypoints per sequence, part 2 is designed to start after 15 waypoints for Wolf 2. The idea is at this point 2 new jets spawn, Jackal 1, the new AI flight lead and Jackal 2, you, with the second part of teh flight waypoints available on your HSI......You swap into Jackal 2 by selecting from the "select role" option.....but it wont work as described above.

 

Would appreciate some pointers!

Is this SP or MP? Is Jackal 1 set as PLAYER or CLIENT?

And AFAIK without serious Lua scripting you can't do mid air client respawns based upon the position of the previous client unit's position. 

Or I'm not following what you're trying to do? Can't you just simplify the route? Let the pilots choose how to get from WP 1 to 7 rather than follow strictly 1-15 and then you can get all your waypoints in one go?

Hi, it’s single player. Jackal 1 is AI. Jackal 2 is the player slot flying alongside, supposed to keep battle formation at 1 mile abreast and do the tactical 

The spawn works for Jackal 1 , not for Jackal 2.

The issue is around waypoints. I wanted an outline route to guide the player and seq 1 only display s 14 waypoints. So to get the ability to carry on the exercise, with a sequenced waypoint map showing on the HSI, I had to swap the player into a new jet. Of course, I could do without having the route displayed for the player on the HSI after WP 14, but it does make things trickier….

it’s no biggie really, of course in reality, as wingman you need to be able to follow in battle formation your lead. Without a route showing a nice line on the HSI! But this is a training mission, sinI wanted some aids……

Have you tried flying it yet?
