streakeagle Posted March 18, 2023 Posted March 18, 2023 (edited) After applying today's patch, I have lost the ability to open missions for editing. I click on the icon to "open mission" and nothing happens. The option to open missions isn't even available on the drop-down menu after starting the editor. Further information: I have DCS World installed on three different PCs and the mission editor is broken on all three after applying yesterday's open beta patch. Repair DCS World did not fix the problem. Edited March 18, 2023 by streakeagle [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
rob10 Posted March 18, 2023 Posted March 18, 2023 Try rebooting (if you haven't) or a repair. Worked for me earlier tonight with the new patch (using MT version)
streakeagle Posted March 18, 2023 Author Posted March 18, 2023 It was working after the patch, then the next time I went to use it, the map doesn't appear and nearly all of the menu items are grayed out. I will try a repair, but I don't understand how it got broken when it initially worked. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
streakeagle Posted March 18, 2023 Author Posted March 18, 2023 It also corrupted the rather large/complex mission I was editing. Hopefully, one of the backups is intact. But I won't know until the repair is complete and see if it fixes the editor. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
streakeagle Posted March 18, 2023 Author Posted March 18, 2023 Repair did not work. The mission editor remains unusuable. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Solution streakeagle Posted March 18, 2023 Author Solution Posted March 18, 2023 I got it working again: 1) The only menu option working was the mission generator, so I generated a mission. 2) Once the mission was generated, I was able to go into the editor. 3) I was able to load a backup of the mission I was previously working on. 4) I was able to 'save as'. 5) I closed the mission editor, then it worked the next time I opened it. 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Flappie Posted March 18, 2023 Posted March 18, 2023 Thanks for your feedback. This was a strange issue. The next time this happens to you, try erasing "DCS..." folders from your "C:\Users\your_login\AppData\Local\Temp" folder. ---
