Caldera Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 Hey All, I notice that in the SnapViews.lua file there is no section for the AV-8B. I typically set up a couple of views so that I can see the MFD's better where the MFD is huge on my computer screen. For example this is the F-16C: How do I do this in the AV-8B? Thanks in advance, Caldera

DCS add the section the first time that you create a snapview while seated on that aircraft. The section would have this identifier: SnapViews["AV8BNA"] For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
Caldera Posted April 4, 2023 Author Posted April 4, 2023 (edited) Thanks Rudel, How do I create a snapview for the first time? Will it wack my Snapview.lua file so that the other aircraft views that I have made will be gone? Caldera Edited April 4, 2023 by Caldera

AFAIK the default "snapviews" are saved automatically (per aircraft) provided you have • Options>Misc>User Snap-View Saving enabled. 4 hours ago, Caldera said: Will it wack my Snapview.lua file so that the other aircraft views that I have made will be gone? No, each set of snapview settings are saved per aircraft i.e. the default camera positions in the AV-8B are different to the F/A-18C, A-10C, etc., etc. However it's worth making a copy of • Saved Games\DCS\Config\View\SnapViews.lua ... in case you wish to revert back to a previous default (can also be done by deleting or editing the "AV8BNA" section in SnapViews.lua Creating and saving SnapViews for the Harrier is no different to other DCS aircraft (it's a default core feature of DCS), useful key commands are LWin+ Num 1 ... Num 9 = Glance look at SnapView (i.e. when not in SnapView mode) RCtrl+ Num 0 = Toggle SnapViews On/Off Num 1 ... Num 9 = Switch to saved SnapView (in SnapView mode) RAlt+ Num 0 = Save current view to last viewed SnapView So the work flow might be • Adjust the camera position/FoV to the view you wish to save as a "SnapView" • Use "LWin+Num#" to glance at the SnapView you want to adjust/replace. • Use "RAlt+Num 0" to save the current view to the previous "SnapView" • Check the change to "LWin+Num#" has taken.
