Mr. Wilson Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 The test shows the problem of the operation of the inertial system with the GPS system disabled and also shows that in this case the fix function "magically" works (did not work with the included GPS). Test conditions: - the aircraft is in a static position throughout the test. This means that no movement has been allowed since the respawn. - aircraft launch at spawn location with inertial system alignment (HDG or NORM doesn't matter). - disable GPS. - trying to fix the emerging drift of the point with the Fix function but the dot still creeps away after the correction. Test results: - the inertial system after successful alignment and turning off the GPS starts a spontaneous drift. It should be noted that the aircraft is absolutely static and did not make any movements. Which in itself is nonsense because the inertial system accumulates errors in the process of maneuvering the aircraft. This problem resembles the bugs of the ka-50-3 inertial system at the time of release there were also huge errors in navigation points caused by INS drift. - fix function "magically" works fine in this case (did not work with GPS enabled in the last test). But at the same time, after a successful correction, the drift of the point continues at a fairly fast pace. - with GPS enabled, there is no drift of navigation points, but at the same time there is a huge error in the location of points. Thanks ) I will wait this question is very interesting... @Lord Vader You saw my second bug report regarding the operation of the system with GPS enabled? it disappeared somewhere...
ED Team Lord Vader Posted March 28, 2023 ED Team Posted March 28, 2023 I think it was removed due to duplication. If you have anything to add regarding possible alignment issues, reply here. Esquadra 701 - DCS Portugal - Discord
Tholozor Posted March 28, 2023 Posted March 28, 2023 I believe it's listed as 'Squat Fix' in the -34. REAPER 51 | Tholozor VFA-136 (c.2007): https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3305981/ Arleigh Burke Destroyer Pack (2020): https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3313752/

Well, I will be brief in the description of the track everything will show... in this case, I show the problem with the secondary alignment of the inertial system at the new location which causes a large coordinate error and also demonstrate the correction by the Fix function that does not work with GPS enabled. Mr. Wilson Posted March 28, 2023 Author Posted March 28, 2023 @Lord Vader in fact, these problems with the inertial system drag a very large tail of problems... For example, if you try to use j-dаm bombs after that, you will get huge errors in hits if you use tgp but at the same time, if you use only the inertial system of the bomb itself without the participation of the aircraft and aim at the same target, then the bomb will arrive exactly at the coordinates. 4
