baltic_dragon Posted April 15 Author Posted April 15 Possible that one of the updates broke it. But also possible it is something on your system - do you have any unofficial 3rd party mods installed or do you run Teamspeak / Vaicom? For more information, please visit my website. PoPoDano Posted April 16 Posted April 16 I’m not running anything third party or Viacom, just regular DCS. btw I love your campaigns!!
baltic_dragon Posted April 16 Author Posted April 16 I think it was broken by one of the updates but now is internally fixed. Things should run as normal as of today's patch. If only Dodge 2 hadn't crashed into Dodge 3 trying not to stall climbing to steer point 2 *facepalm*

Papa1 Posted May 2 Posted May 2 I’ve been trying to replay this campaign and been having bad comms problems since mission 9. Messages and conversations are out of order and stepped on. I was totally lost on the mission to help Schaffer escape and moved on to Scramble and it’s the same with messages and requests that are out of order or stepped on. It’s a great campaign and I loved it the first time I played it a year or so ago. It seems impossible to me how a campaign creator can keep up with the updates that cause some issues to their campaigns and really appreciate all their work to try and work it out. The load out for the scramble mission changed from what I remember as I started with 14 rockets and one Mk 82 in the briefing but after startup I only had unguided rockets and no bomb. If anyone has recently flown this mission with no problems please let me know and I will see if I’m making some kind of error with something and try it again. For now I’m moving on to the next mission to see how it goes.
Jakes Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Hi @Papa1 Just want to confirm, are you running ANY mods or 3rd party software like Viacom or voice attack? Any landing that doesn't require the jaws of life....is a good landing...
Papa1 Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Hi Jakes Not running any mods or software. I had a computer issue a couple of months back and had no backups of anything related to DCS and had to reinstall game. After the reinstall the sim has been running better than it has for a long time. I’m playing 2D but have run VR and love it but the clarity just doesn’t do it for me with my current gear. My setup is a 12400, 3090, 64 ram, M.2 and Thrustmaster 160000 Hotas no rudder pedals yet. My settings are on the high side but not maxed out and the game is just running beautifully. I didn’t notice many comms issues in the first few missions and if there were I just figured it was a older campaign that has had to endure many updates and there was going to be a glitch or 2. I’m not a real computer tech guy and have always just run DCS vanilla except for trying reshare one a long time ago before having to reinstall sim. Now it’s totally fresh install and I’m actually happy I had to because it just seems to be running so well. This sim is just so amazing. I’m going in to fly a bit this morning and am going to retry the mission Scramble. I’m just not sure what is happening but it seems like some of the voice recording triggers or tasking is rapid fire or stepped on or even out of sync.
Papa1 Posted May 2 Posted May 2 (edited) I did just complete this mission ,Scramble, with a 90 percent but there is just something not right with the comms triggers. Still this is a great campaign. I also watched a video of another player doing this mission and it seemed correct and his load out had mk 82 also where my loadout was guns and 14 unguided 151 rockets. It’s a little scary doing a run in on a man pad with it. Edited May 2 by Papa1
Columbar Posted May 11 Posted May 11 (edited) Hi Baltic, I´ve played mission tree and have no communication with both Beholder and Hunter. frequency was correct (double checked). I tried both: preset freq and manual - nothing works. No mods except A4 Skyhawk, Civil aircraft mod, FC3 clicable cockpit and few graphic overhaul cockpits. Edited May 12 by Columbar

I tried both: preset freq and manual - nothing works. No mods except A4 Skyhawk, Civil aircraft mod, FC3 clicable cockpit and few graphic overhaul cockpits. Those are mods... mods can (and probably will) ruin campaigns unfortunately. The No.1 Rule with DCS Campaigns... If you have ANY mod that is NOT purchased from the DCS Store, it will probably cause issues. This may not happen on every mission, it may not even happen consistently, but it can and will catch you at some point. Every update can be different, any change in DCS Core, or to a module or any kind of assets that mod may piggyback/overwrite can cause huge issues in campaigns. SRS and OpenKneeboard(Mostly VR users) seem to be ok, as we test these missions using both. Make sure to remove any and all mods before flying campaigns. (Check out OVGME, I use it daily and it works well) If you have no mods, or if removing all mods still does not fix the issue, take the following steps(Test after each step): 1) Delete fxo and metashaders2 folders in your saved games. Can get gummed up with old files. 2) Rename you DCS Saved Games folder, run DCS and let it create a new one. Close DCS and then just copy the Config folder from the old to the new so you don't lose your bindings and also copy your logbook.lua from saved games mission editor folder, that way you don't lose campaign progress. (Some mods can write to places like your scripts folder in your saved games location as an example. Also seems to help sometimes even if you never run mods at all) 3) Do a full deep repair of DCS to clear up any unwanted stuff in your main game folder. Some settings to check: 1) If you have easy comms enabled, disable it. 2) Under Gameplay options, make sure the tick box on the bottom right for "No force from mission, use mine" is NOT ticked. 3) Try disabling TacView under special options. It can cause issues, usually performance, that can lead to bugs if your cores are overloaded/too busy and it misses a trigger point due to that. Any landing that doesn't require the jaws of life....is a good landing...
