barra733 Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 Sharkster, I've just downloaded the Cachya demo and have it working on my desktop moving the mouse arrow left to right. When I load up BS I get nothing. I have tried pressing escape twice to get the 'mouse look' working, which works but still no head tracking. Am I missing something here..?
CAT_101st Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 I dont tuch any of the curves. and just set theas settings. yaw 1.2 pitch 1.2 roll .4 X 1.0 Y 1.0 Z .4 for smothing 123,128,136,144,144,158 top to bottom theas give me a very good result. When I mesed with the curves I wound up gitting a dizzy as it did not feal natural the way the head would speed up and slow down. This profile will keep movment to where you move. Am I missing something here..? although is a bit off-topic for this thread, I believe what you are looking for barra is here (courtesy of sharkster): http://forums.eagle.ru/album.php?albumid=218 I think what you are doing is assuming cachya will take over mouselook, instead of setting up the cachya virtual joy and running it like that. that's what I initially did wrong myself too. hope that helps.
barra733 Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 Oakdown/Sharkster - I try to set up virtual joystick (by clicking the plug in virtual joystick box) but I keep getting the message 'failed to plug in device'. Is this something to do with the trial version? I am not able to check the virtual joystick box either...
igormk Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 I dont tuch any of the curves. and just set theas settings. yaw 1.2 pitch 1.2 roll .4 X 1.0 Y 1.0 Z .4 for smothing 123,128,136,144,144,158 top to bottom Thanks CAT for sharing, but hmmm... I'm not sure are we using same version of FreeTrack. I'm using V2.1, and my settings panel looks like that in the attachment, so I'm not sure how to set Y/P/R on such low values. Plus I would like to know do you set those settings in both "Profile" and "Global" sections, and if you are also using 3 point clip device what values did you set in "Setup" section for "Center of Rotation Calibration". Thanks, I'm really looking forward to make it work as it should! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
CAT_101st Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 (edited) I am running FT 2.2 I did have 2.1 but have found that 2.2 is smother once setup. here is a pic of my setings. If you place yours in the same location you shuld get the same results. I can all ready see that yous is way too agressev of settings. I have a 3 point hat and a 3 point clip. I find that the clip gives me better movement side to side. and the hat gives me more stable head movment rotating to look around. I prefer the 3 point clip myself. I use theas settings as my default for all games. I might have to make a small adjustment for each game but nuthing big. I am having some problems with FSX but it is a known issue with 2.2. Edit: I have made small changes in the setings for testing the new hat I made. <--- A how to vid. igormk Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 CAT, I've tryed with those settings, but it resulted with almost no response to my head movement. Probably it's difference between V2.1 an 2.2 so these days I'll probably install V2.2. In the meantime I did "soften" my previous setting, and result was not bad at all. I've tryed NOE, rockets and guns and also formation flying and it was fine. Next days I will fine tune my settings, make some practise, and than... beware if you see me in MP on the oposite side! :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
PlainSight Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 I'm using FreeTrack, with one LED and joypad's stick for zoom. I find that setup most simplified, but still able to look around [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
