Same steps, same issue here, was wondering if you ever got a fix on this.  I can run everything except Germany Cold War missions.

Fixed mine by running the ".\bin\DCS_updater.exe update "@dcs_server.release"" command.  I can now run the previously greyed out Germany CW miz files.

I'm going to update DCS, maybe that will solve the problem!

But that would be strange because it is clearly stated in the module specifications that version 2.9.16 is sufficient (and not 2.9.17 from today's update).

That was a typo.  It's been updated to 2.9.17 if you check it again now.
