Just curious, does it matter if dcs is installed on the same drive as the OS or on a separate drive?

I understood some games benefit from using a separate drive whereas some games run faster o. The same drive as the OS.

Best practice is to separate OS and main apps, be it a game or CAD.

Take at least a 1TB drive for DCS, 512GB or 1TB for OS, NVMe prefered.

Used to have DCS on a separate SSD drive years ago, but after running out of space I've got it now on the system one, 'cause it's the only one big enough. I'll probably switch to a more "PC-hygienic" solution suggested by BM above in the future, during the next overall PC upgrade.

With that being said, referring to the original question, I've noticed no noticeable difference in performance whatsoever.

The biggest benefit is from putting it on an SSD.   I have 2 SSDs in my computer and DCS goes on a separate one from the OS, mainly because it's bigger.
