Polls from ED team

Following F-16C and F/A-18C developments, ED has setup community polls quite some time ago.

The F/A-18C roadmap poll indicated that most users wanted to see flight model updated but I am pretty sure that is still coming sometime in the future.

A similar poll was created for the F-16C, and most users wanted to see complete lightening pod, but I guess the lightening pod is getting pulled from this air frame.

I get that everything is subject to change, but I am a bit curious about why the features most desired by customer base seem to be either cancelled or deprioritized.

The flight model changes are not deprioritized, they are complex and being worked on, but because something is most wanted doesn't mean its going to be able to be done any faster. The guys that do our PFMs are highly skilled and highly specialized, it isn't a matter of throwing more people at it or anything like that.

The TGP changes with the Viper are purely based on available evidence. The TGP we are developing right now was once thought to be a LITENING POD, but after consultation and review of our available information, it turned out to be the LANTIRN. This means we have available information for the LANTIRN and not enough for the LITENING. So the current pod will eventually become the LANTIRN, a SNIPER will be done and if we find enough info, possibly a LITENING will return.
