Skydiver Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Put a new cpu in my pc and my existing BS install tells me a major change has taken place, the copy protection kicks in...all fine, just wondered what the procedure was. Do I de-activate, then activate BS or just activate? thanks.
Acedy Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Sorry, but you should have deactivated BS before inserting the new CPU, as explained here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=568704&postcount=3 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] *** SERVMAN SERVER MANAGEMENT MOD V2 FOR DCS:BS V1.0.1 *** *** VERSION FOR FC2 ***
Tez Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Use one deactivation to deactivate, install hardware, then reactivate. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] =653=Tez
hitman Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Heres a question along those lines....say I install a new video card in SLI...will I have to do the same thing here?
bumfire Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Heres a question along those lines....say I install a new video card in SLI...will I have to do the same thing here? Probably not as when I only used 1 video card for FC then added another to make sli, FC didnt warn me about a hardware change, but when I changed dvd drive I then got a warning, but I suspect that was because a new dvd drive and a second video card both together made up a significant hardware change on my pc. Things like changing cpu will nearly always mean you have to re-activate the game since a new cpu is the ultimate hardware change that one can do to a pc, all other single hardware changes arent as significant as a new cpu. If starforce in BS is similar to what it was like in FC i would think you will be ok and wont need to re-activate the game due to adding another vid card to make sli.
Tez Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 I would suggest to be overcautious and deactivate before making any hardware upgrade. 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] =653=Tez
