For those who may have run into challenges with performance

See VR Performance in BNB campaign P-51D thread in bug reports, multi thread forum, 2.8.

TLDR: BNB takes substantial RAM & VRAM to perform well in VR. Turn down preload radius, and tweak other DCS settings to desired performance level.

I was able to get it to just playable on a high end laptop (3080) in VR.

(Edited to clarify in VR. I can run it well in 2D on my laptop and desktop.)

Thanks for the tip, but I'd refrain from generalized comments like that. It runs buttery smooth on my low end laptop - albeit in 2D.

But yeah, in a nutshell, complex missions will always be more taxing on your PC than simple ones, so keep this in mind when adjusting your settings.

In short, the BNB campaign is great and highly recommended but it took me considerable testing to get it where I was pleased with the performance. If you are playing on lower settings, it should not be a problem. I have been playing in VR with relatively high settings on mid-high-end hardware or in 4K when not in VR.

VR has different rules . However I can say that for me was fine with maxed out Combat Box and mostly High settings in DCS (MT version too). Just over Paris was a little worse and close to London (this city needs to be optimalizing by Ugra btw.). No any big or serious performance issues (I fly ONLY in VR).
