JayJ Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 As in title; I have a few mods installed so I am not sure if this bug is common for everyone. Can someone with a clean install cross check?
Flappie Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 A track from you would have helped a lot. We don't know what aircraft you're talking about. Which one is it? ---
JayJ Posted June 8, 2023 Author Posted June 8, 2023 (edited) Any flanker from FC3. I did a quick additional test and attached two 'white' smokepods and one 'blue' in the center. Blue smokepod produces dark blue smoke. White ones produce blue-greyish color. I can re-edit my autoconfig.ini to record a track tomorrow if needed but honestly there wouldn't be a whole lot to look at in the trk file. Steps to reproduce are just attach the pods, start the mission and start smoke. Edited June 8, 2023 by JayJ Typological error correction
Flappie Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 No such issue for me. Please replay my track and report back. bluewhiteblue.trk What is your version of DCS by the way? ---
JayJ Posted June 9, 2023 Author Posted June 9, 2023 I replayed your track. Smoke color was correct and same as in the SS you provided. It seems the key factor in smoke color manifestation is weather preset. I use latest Open Beta (updated today in the morning before recording tracks). nothing_smoke.trk overcast4_smoke.trk
Solution Flappie Posted June 9, 2023 Solution Posted June 9, 2023 Thank you for the tracks. It is true that DCS white smoke gets a little blueish in bad whether. However, I don't think it's worth a report. See: the beach sand tends to be blueish too in bad wheather. This looks like a feature. ---
JayJ Posted June 9, 2023 Author Posted June 9, 2023 Alright then. Thank you for your insight and time @Flappie
