murdoc311 Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Hello, anyone know how I can setup the thumb slider on the throttle to zoom in and out?
-Nighthawk- Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 It's in the AXIS Commands under controls, I tried this for mine however quickly decided against it. Reason was the slider has many dead spots, the camera was moving in and out too much ;)
murdoc311 Posted February 17, 2009 Author Posted February 17, 2009 Thanks for the quick reply. The reason I like using the slider for zoom is because that's what i use in IL2 and Lomac, just feels natural to me. Anyway, I've been trying this without luck if you could give me a proper step-by-step guide to make this work I would be grateful. This is how I've been trying it; Go into BS options>controls>axis commands mapping zoom view to x52 joy slider 1 then inverting. Don't know what I'm doing wrong.
Tbag Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Make sure you haven't mapped the slider in your Saitek software. Other than that I did it excactly how you describe it. options->axis commands->select zoom view, click add, move slider, done [/url]"Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so." - Douglas Adams
-Nighthawk- Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Yep what Tbag said, just make sure nothing is assigned to it in your Saitek software
Tehrawk Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 The slider is perfect for zooming. Unfortunately the constant moving of the camera when its assigned will completely wreck your head.
beers Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I like my solution to this; in the Saitek software I made the pinkie-slider work on bands, 0-10% zoom in, 90-100% zoom out, 10-90% nothing. So, the slider does nothing with no pinkie, but when I pull the pinkie in, then move the slider to either end, it zooms. Mapping the slider, or the rotaries, would be GREAT if DCS would ignore small variations in the zoom input, like <2% ?? it's too touchy. 2600K @ 4.2GHz, MSI P67A-GD55, 16GB G.Skill @2133 , GTX 970, Rift, SSD boot & DCS drive [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
CyBerkut Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 It may not be applicable in this situation, but another thing to watch out for is that BS will map the collective to the slider by default. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] There's no place like 127.0.0.1
t-stoff Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I really would like to know where I can map the grey wheel on the x52 pro (throttle) to zoom in / out. Since programing seems more dodgy, at least when I tried, I would prefer to assign it in game, but I cant find it on the huge list that is provided. Im sorry, I've already posted this on a sticky topic but no one replyed. and im of for :pilotfly: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "The nation which forgets its defenders will be itself forgotten"
CyBerkut Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I believe the wheel has to be programmed in the SST software. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] There's no place like 127.0.0.1
Made.In.China.00 Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 If you're not using the SST software and use the built-in option like I am. You should assign colective to the throttle (z axe I think) then zoom to slider. Then using zxe tune (tune axe?) check if you got the correct axe, you need to invert the slider so you push it away from your thump to zoom. You may want to invert the throttle too so you pull to give more collective, some people prefer push it for more power though. BTW, mine is a X52 pro so it may be kind of different.
