Greco Posted February 26, 2005 Posted February 26, 2005 Guys: I'm enjoying the demo quite a bit. I was wandering if there was any way to (automatically) target the AAA and SAM units in the demo A-10 mission. Ideally, I'd like to take these units out with the Mavericks from a distance. What happens is that I end up destroying the wrong units with the Mav's, and then get so close for a rocket/bomb kill that the AAA and SAMs chew me (and my wingman) to bits. (Just curious....in a real world situation would A-10 drivers risk going after a column of tanks/trucks that is supported by AAA and SAM units???? That's looking for trouble if you ask me.) Thanks, Greco
plug pray Posted February 26, 2005 Posted February 26, 2005 u know, living is dangerous...:) whoever u are and wherever u are.
Kula66 Posted February 26, 2005 Posted February 26, 2005 Fly toward them ... wait for the SAM to fire, note its position in the formation, turn, flares, jammer, run ... Then re-attack! Also, watch your RWR for a bearing ... James

Thanks, Greco When I played that training mission, I got the impression that Ironhand showed us the "safe" way to do the job; Not getting too close for proper identification, but close enough for firing all of your Mavericks. Then fly home for supper. I want to get away, I wanna fly away. Yeah, yeah, yeah! - Lenny Kravitz - Fly Away
Greco Posted February 27, 2005 Author Posted February 27, 2005 Thanks to all for your replies. My mistake for thinking that I had to destroy all enemy units for the mission to be a success. (I suppose I am playing way too many FPS games where you shoot everything in sight.) Fly in...destroy what you can at a safe distance...and then get out of dodge. Cheers, Greco
Dutch60 Posted February 27, 2005 Posted February 27, 2005 If you think the A-10 mission is difficult you should try the Su-25 mission. The one ting I can say is: 8) Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training Training and Training. i9 13900KS (H150i), RTX 4090, 64 GB RAM @ 6000 MHz CL30, TM Warthog HOTAS + MFD's, MFG Crosswind, LG 48GQ900, Valve Index VR, TrackIR 5, Win11 Pro x64
