I can get AWACS to RTB on (for example) UNIT / GROUP damaged / destroyed by using an AWACS waypoint that is set to LAND and using AI PUSH. However is there a way of getting the AWACS to RTB without using waypoints, for example if the AWACS is set to ORBIT?
Lace Posted June 21, 2023 Posted June 21, 2023 The orbit instruction (advanced waypoint options) can be ended (stop condition) with a flag. If the AWACS flight plan has an end point i.e. a landing waypoint, it will stop the orbit and continue en-route. I'm not sure if it can be done without any waypoints - is there a reason you can't have a landing waypoint after their station keeping waypoint? Laptop Pilot. Lace Posted June 21, 2023 Posted June 21, 2023 Set your AWACS flight plan. Have WP0 the start point, WP1 your AWACS station, and WP2 should be your landing airbase. At WP1 under 'Advanced Waypoint actions' add 'Orbit', then edit orbit, stop condition, tick 'Is user flag' (flag number whatever you like). Go to Triggers, and set a trigger for your desired condition, then on 'Trigger Actions' set 'Flag On' for the flag number already set for your stop condition. This should then end your AWACS orbit and send it on its way to the next WP. Is this any use to you? 1 Laptop Pilot. Indeed so. Actually I just gave it a waypoint route and an AI task push SWITCHWAYPOINT (to the desired airbase) when a certain condition was met.
