Hi, airstart jet, designation right on target.

Without wind, the ASL is perfectly aligned on the target diamond. But with wind, the ASL is pointing towards the wind.

The issue here is the ASL behaviour. The closer I am to the target, the more the ASL moves towards it. It is not "space stabilized".

So, If I follow the ASL to the target, the plane will approach in a "curve" profile. Shouldn't the ASL be "fixed" in space, in this case to the right of the target, directly with the correct spacing?

Track attached.

Would that mean the ASL is moving closer to the target because there is less time for the wind to affect the bomb fall trajectory. So correcting the offset as you approach.

Just a thought…

This is incorrect. As long as the wind is not changing, the wind correction does not change. There is only one wind corrected release aimpoint for any given wind. So assuming you are not changing altitude into a different wind, or the wind is not changing direction as you approach the target. The ASL should be static in relation to the target. In the diagram below the ASL should for all the aircraft be fixed over the Upwind Aim point. And release their bombs when they cross the red circle.

Hopefully it is obvious that none of this diagram is to scale with anything, the aim point will probly be offset by a hundred or so feet in most circumstances for low drag bombs.

Thank you for the Klarification.

Let’s hope Razbam is working on it, the current behavior makes the ASL not usable under certain wind conditions.

Similarly.

Nil Wind.

ASL snaps to the right when aircraft dips below target height, 570'.

ASL remains to the right.

ASL snaps to target diamond when target height, 570', is attained.

Is this correct behaviour?

That is also incorrect, the ASL should not care if you are above or below the targets elevation.

As I suspected. Thanks.
