lesthegrngo Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 I need to find a small four / eight way hat type switch to complete the A10 emergency flight control panel, as it uses one for the Emergency Trim switch. I've looked at Ebay, but maybe my search terms are not suitable because I only ever come across 4 way rotary switches or large joystick types, and the small 'joystick' switches are analogue (presumably potentiometers) rather than digital I thought about cannibalising one of my son's old Playstation or XBox controllers but suspect that they are fixed into a PBC that would render them difficult if not impossible to use. They must exist, does anyone have any guidance on what to search as or where I could get one? Cheers Les
crash test pilot Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 If you have a 3d-printer (or acess to one) you could use this: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4543158 Alternatively you could use the alps rkjxm/rkjxl/rkjxt switches or these: https://pcflights.com/navigation-switch-joystick-2-axis-4-ways/ 1
lesthegrngo Posted July 15, 2023 Author Posted July 15, 2023 youch on the price of the PC flights switch! Thanks though, much appreciated - I'll have a look at the printed version Les 1
Vinc_Vega Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 (edited) Edit: Alternative such 5 directions modules may be used. They probably could be de-soldered and used separately to save space. lesthegrngo Posted July 15, 2023 Author Posted July 15, 2023 Nice one Vinc - I'll check out the local electronics shop, I know they have the arduino modules there Les
Vinc_Vega Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 (edited) Hi Les, beware of that the switches are really tiny. They are 7 mm in square, surface mounted. Regards, Vinc Edited July 15, 2023 by Vinc_Vega Regards, Vinc real life: Royal Bavarian Airforce online: VJS-GermanKnights.de [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Vinc_Vega Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 How about using the push button function of the above referenced 5 direction switch to bring up a center command to the cockpit joystick? Regards, Vinc Regards, Vinc real life: Royal Bavarian Airforce online: VJS-GermanKnights.de [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
