I have a question. I want to add a model/object to the decks of ships. At present, to do this you select static ship objects and place and link to the ship. This works fine. But as the name says, the object/model will be static. So If you add any with animations, they will not work. I said to self, "Self, how about you use a ship arg? This way because the ship is already using it, why should it not work the same? " I was delusional!  🤣 Not un common.....LOL So, back to the question at hand. Any ideas on how to approach this? Imagine if you will, service trucks moving TO and FRO. weapon lifts lifting weapons! The possibilities are mind blowing!

Not wishing to dampen your enthusiasm Greg but I'm not sure stuff moving around on a flight deck (apart from aircraft) is going to make the game better. Coding any movement so that it does not collide with other moving objects, aircraft, vehicles or people, is going to be horrendous.  Moving aircraft lifts and ammo lifts is a good idea, but anything other than aircraft is going to have to be confined to the areas least used in flying operations, so not very much really. 

Real people driving real vehicles on a deck can react to other movements, such as aircraft and other vehicles/people, coding that effectively is all but impossible I would say.  

You could confine it to just a single operation, a moving tow truck say, that moves in an area that aircraft will not intrude on - but lots of those and your into the realms of blocked aircraft and multiple crashes on deck. 

Its a good idea, I just don't see how its going to work - Prove me wrong mate, you usually do 😃

Surely you mean you have corrected ME!

Many times I might add!

All to fix and improve my mods.

And for this, I thank you!

Let me elaborate a bit on this idea.

It iis not confined to carriers.

The Admiral has many fine cargo and landing ships.

With open deck areas. All could bve used.

And,

Consider the fences arg.

It is normally used to lower fences whenever a aircraft is present

Works a treat!

How about using it in reverse?

The Med flight lands. As soon as it does, the Med crew scurry out from the tower, carrying a gurney

to bring the injured on board!

Or. consider the alarm arg.

A custom arg could be used to activate a , say, set of large binos to scan the horizon for threats.

Or a pop up warning flag.

Or a pop up display showing the ME F10 map in real time, on screen!

Similar to the controls screen.

Alarm bells!
