FusRoPotato Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 (edited) I changed my Saved Games folder and DCS decided to ignore all controller profiles for my joysticks only. It did not affect other controller, mouse, or keyboard. When loading the original profile, it creates a new file with identical name but has a space in front.... It would be nice to know if there is a file somewhere that points to a fixable pathname or accepts the new file. In my case, the only thing that changed was the drive letter and I have no idea where DCS stores that. Edited July 22, 2023 by FusRoPotato
Flappie Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Hi. Please attach: your dcs.log file (from Saved Games/DCS.../Logs) a zip containing your Input folder (from Saved Games/DCS.../Config) ---
FusRoPotato Posted July 22, 2023 Author Posted July 22, 2023 (edited) Input.zipdcs.log I had to move DCS and the Saved Games to a new SSD. In doing so, it appears to have added a space in front of both my joystick names. Otherwise everything went smoothly. That input zip has 50% of my profile recreated with that space because I was in the process of trying to fix it. I did try rescan devices btw Edited July 22, 2023 by FusRoPotato
Flappie Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Thank you, I have a better comprehension of what is happening to you. And I can see the space that was added, here: Quote 2023-07-22 22:32:35.471 INFO INPUT (Main): Joystick created[ VKBsim Gladiator EVO L {54322A50-844F-11ed-8001-444553540000}], ForceFeedBack: no 2023-07-22 22:32:35.503 INFO INPUT (Main): Joystick created[ VKBsim Gladiator EVO R {B4FAC970-83E4-11ed-8001-444553540000}], ForceFeedBack: no It looks like an annoying bug caused by the use of another drive to store your Saved Games folder, indeed. First thing first: if you haven't already, don't forget to backup your former .diff.lua (those without a leading space). Now, why don't you simply rename your former files to the new names? (by adding a leading space) ---
FusRoPotato Posted July 22, 2023 Author Posted July 22, 2023 lol believe me, I've been trying to figure out how to do that in a way that's quicker and easier than just resaving them in DCS, but I haven't figured out one. Explorer and a few other explorer like programs I have automatically remove the leading space.
Solution Flappie Posted July 22, 2023 Solution Posted July 22, 2023 Simple: open the zip you just sent me with 7zip, and edit their names in the archive. Then unzip! ---
FusRoPotato Posted July 22, 2023 Author Posted July 22, 2023 HAH that seems to work, too bad I already did all of it through DCS. Might need a new mouse button now, that was a lot of clicking...
