So, using the gunsight in a dogfight. I've taken to dragging the cursor from some way off the tail to the head of the enemy. It seems the sight itself isn't as accurate as others? When I put the cursor on the plane at range the rounds don't hit where I'm aiming. Or is it my misuse? Also, is this accurate to the real plane?

There are range markers in the donut it i remember correct. Not that it helps to make it more usable.

however, I personally came to peace with the fact that the jeffs gun is only for ground strafing and ending endless „return pre contact“ loops.

My experience has been even if the enemy plane looks massive in the HUD because I'm that close, it's still off when I fire. I mean, if it's realistic that's fine. But it seems particularly off.

Though I guess the other question is if the cannon has any deviation? Sometimes it feels like it's a combination of the gunsight being off, and the shells being very accurate with little or no spread.

True, I tried to hunt down a SU-25T because I had no more missiles, and I could not get a single shot to hit when using the gunsight. IDK why it doesn't work, but it's frustrating.

It accounts for 2.5 degree downward deviation of gun.

It is a gyro sight like in F-86 or Mirage, not a predictive sight. You need to fire after tracking the target continuously with pipper on target for 2-3 seconds, or fire 1x bullet TOF before the target enters the gun reticule in a snapshot,  becuase all gyro sights have 1x bullet TOF lag

Bit surprising given the release date, but even so it feels off to me? I spent quite a bit of time in the P-51 and MiG-21, and they should both be gyro sights too. But I found those far more accurate.

It should be most similar to the Mirage 2000 site. I also think the 2.5 degree down angle helps make the experience painful as not only can you not pull much G, but anytime you roll towards a target the gun points the opposite direction……

I find it sometimes easier to ram someone than to put my piper on 'em.
